@emontserrato @holdyourhurt nobody said she has to love it 🤣🤣🤣 but surely if someone tells you that something is their culture, you just nod and move on, no? 🙃

@ghostyyyyyg @holdyourhurt she found it weird in that particular moment bc the crowd was silent and it’s coachella. also just bc it’s someone’s culture doesn’t mean she has to love it lol

@lovingcmila and on the other hand there are people like you downplaying something that some people find genuinely upsetting and offensive. whether she knew the culture or not, calling it weird is simply wrong and calling her out for it is justifiable

@emontserrato @holdyourhurt does that make it okay? to openly respond to someone by saying that something they do in their culture is weird? this is intolerance. simple.

@frendgane @holdyourhurt I didn’t say it does remove questioning. I did say that it’s wrong of her to respond by calling it weird…

@sadboysoinlove I fear it is kinda serious when you call someone’s culture weird in such a public place because it shows that your immediate response to the unknown is to call it weird

sabrina carpenter mocking a zaghrouta as ‘yodeling’ after being educated on its culture is so nasty. being uncultured and proud is actually a disease. the mean girl act isn’t cute anymore, it’s just xenophobic. she’s done.

I’d like to hear from the person who “yodelled” so that we can learn what their culture is because ululation is commonly used for many reasons across cultures. y’all are just looking past the part where Sabrina called someone’s culture “weird” 🤨

@hoodveil absolutely! it was very clearly a ululating sound and not yodelling. I had never heard of a zaghroot, so thank you for sharing that. I am familiar with a similar sound commonly used in Southern Africa in celebration and cheer. Sabrina was very ignorant for this

sabrina carpenter is so ignorant, someone was doing a zaghroot (an arab cheer) and she called it yodelling and disrespectfully dismissed the fact that it was apart of the person’a culture saying “she doesn’t like it” 💀

That needs to be made clear up front then. But if you go into a marriage and then later on just decide to withhold something from your spouse that, according to the rules of marriage, can’t be had elsewhere, then you are clearly not living up to your obligations as a spouse. This applies to both sides and to all marital obligations, not just sex. If you have a problem with this then you probably shouldn’t get married to begin with.

@DannnoRPFs @billybobsahiwal @michaeljknowles The modern views on marriage have shifted, as have cultures and traditions. If you are a Christian, then yes, the Bible teaches certain things about marriage. Religions do tend to frame sex as a so-called “marital duty” (2)

@DannnoRPFs @billybobsahiwal @michaeljknowles It doesn’t. Marriage was originally used in order to forge alliances and create family legacies and heirs. The monogamy part of marriage became more prominent in order to ensure legitimate heirs. Marriage wasn’t originally about love.

@DannnoRPFs @billybobsahiwal @michaeljknowles you’re absolutely revolting. marriage does NOT come with an obligation of sex whatsoever. “negotiation of frequency” are you being for real?? like sex is some sort of transaction and negotiation. you’re extremely weird for this stance

Violence is not tolerated in any circumstance, that’s not what anybody is saying. If she doesn’t want to have sex, then she should get divorced, it’s her fault and she should not get any of the benefits of having been married, because that is part of marriage and she broke the deal. There is some room for negotiation of frequency, like maybe one person doesn’t want to do it every single night, so maybe 2-3 times a week. But that person should be initiating sometimes if they are the one who is reducing the frequency, that makes up for it a little bit.
