@mjgillbee @RoryPetzer I don't think anyone's doubting the springboks have unbelievable skill, it's the fact they are stronger and faster than all teams and aren't testing enough as a nation

@gi_rld @RoryPetzer No, I know that… you’re missing the point! The message behind it was that it’s not doping. And you cannot dope skill! So this is all a smear campaign to insinuate wrong doing

INEOS have a serious Mason Mount dilemma. Bruno starts in his position, rarely ever subbed, never injured, plays every game. Mount’s wages with UCL go way north of £200k a week minimum. Unsellable or not, he’s currently a boardrooms nightmare. They will know it too.

Eze on the left. Bukayo Saka on the right. Ødegaard pulling stings in the middle. Only thing standing between us and glory are 5 league wins and goal difference. But first things first: Newcastle at home.

@ronaldobrown_98 I can see us going for Ndiaye (covers LW and CAM) and getting an overlapping LB (hopefully Diouf if West Ham go down). Prefer Diomande but worry about Bundelsliga overhype

I said this last summer & the same people were saying the same shit to me in the comments - can only see as far as the end of their nose. Now look, United being outrun by their list of needs… AGAIN. Signing don’t have to all be £70m either before bots use that as a rebuttal.

The “can’t do everything in one window” crowd are effectively apologists for United’s seasonal incompetence in the summer transfer window. Every hole you don’t plug becomes a bigger one the following summer because a year in football is a long time where OTHER holes materialise.

@AB305239 @ProGolfCritic But why would anyone invest when it has been making annual losses of c.$500m? Hard to see where investors come in if PIF divest.

@ProGolfCritic If the PIF investment is gone, is there not a scenario some big wig CEOs and or sports owners of major franchises try and jump in and fund this and keep it afloat?

@NeedDayJob God alive - not everyone wants to swap spit in public. Her major concern as it should be is on her daughter and any over whelm with the spot light. People love to look for things that can be easily explained in other ways.

Long post about Rory’s win and what it means through the eyes of a father. This is bigger than golf! Rory McIlroy won the Masters. Again. But forget the green jacket for a moment. Forget the scorecard, the scrambles, the impossible par saves, the six iron out of the pine straw on 18. Forget the fact he has just become only the fourth man in history to defend the Masters title, joining Nicklaus, Faldo and Woods. The moment that mattered happened after the final putt dropped. Rory walked off the 18th green at Augusta National, looked back towards the ropes, and gestured to his five year old daughter Poppy to come under them. And she did. And he scooped her up. And in that single moment, everything else fell away. That is the image of this Masters. Not the trophy. Not the jacket. A little girl running to her dad. There is something that happens to you when you become a parent. Something that is almost impossible to explain to anyone who has not felt it. The thing you wanted most in the world for yourself suddenly has to share space with something so much bigger that it makes everything else look small. Your child. Their face. The way they look at you not as a champion or a sportsman but simply as their dad. Rory has spoken about what fatherhood did to him as a competitor. How Poppy gave him something no major ever could. Unconditional love with no conditions attached. No scorecards. No leaderboards. No expectations. Just her dad coming home. And when you carry that with you, the pressure of a closing round at Augusta feels different. Not easier. Just different. More human. More real. Think about last year at the Par 3 contest. Poppy stood over a 25 foot downhill putt on the ninth green, cradling Rory's putter in both arms like it was twice her size, and rolled it straight into the hole. Shane Lowry threw his arms in the air. Rory wrapped her up. The patrons erupted. It was the purest moment in golf that entire week. And you could see it in Rory's face. Whatever happened in the tournament, that already happened. That was already real. And now this year, Poppy brought her own putter. There is a line Rory said in his victory speech that will stay with me. Talking about his parents, through tears, he said: "If I can be half the parent to Poppy that you were to me, then I know I've done a good job." That is not the words of a man defined by his trophies. That is a father. The greatest things we achieve in our lives are made greater by who we share them with. Not in a press release. Not on a podium. But in a hug. In a moment where a little girl ducks under the ropes at Augusta National and runs to her dad not because he just won the Masters but because he is her dad and she loves him and he is right there. Rory McIlroy did not just win the Masters twice. He is showing his daughter what it looks like to keep going. To fall short. To get back up. To earn it. And to share it. That is the greatest lesson any parent can give a child. #RoryMcIlroy #TheMasters #GolfLoversUnited

@McbillsonBill @KylePorterNS Rory just won with the C game so he definitely can! The disrespect on Rory is unreal. Scheffler is also going to be a generational player so just appreciate them both whilst we have them.

@gi_rld @KylePorterNS for sure, just seems Porter is sleeping on Scottie here, I think the generational player we are all watching is Scottie, who can finish 2nd with his C- game, Rory cannot.

The "he got an unfair advantage!" folks on this stupid, stupid app who generate so much angst and anger around the idea that Rory is one of the greatest players in history bring me so much delight. Like, please do continue replying to all of us with things like "get off your knees" (and much more vile stuff than that) because I am absolutely going to continue enjoying writing about and covering a once-in-a-generation golfer. Nothing could be more fun than the most dynamic person currently in the sport somehow also being one of the 10 best to ever do it. And so many people (bots, whatever) cannot help themselves but to rage against the joy of these events and the beauty disclosed by his game. Just try and enjoy something wonderful!

@DavidCBets There is nothing "controversial" about Bryson. He is the most pick-me athlete in the world, obsessed with validation from others.

I was long a fan of Rory but man he is such an awful face for golf Sad that Bryson is somehow the closest thing of a controversial competitor to Tiger. Scottie is a great face but just isn’t fiery nor controversial. They need some new personality badly.

Not seeing a huge amount (anything) said about Leicester sending a changed side to their knockout game. Wonder why that is? Thought all the commentariat and journos were very very sensitive to this sort of DISRESPECT. Reaction should be any moment now…

@rugby_ap Willie, KLA, Moodie, Goosen, Papier, Elrigh, Coetzee, Nortje, Wilco Louw, Steenekamp, Grobelaar. David Kriel and Vermaak rested too (although not springboks). Reffell is injured, Chessum and Heyes not allowed to play because of stupid RFU post 6N resting rules.

@gi_rld Name the 11 Springboks that were rested. I’ve seen this nonsense claim time and again from people who can’t even name 11 Bulls players full stop. Benching Billy Searle? Chessum, Hayes, Reffell not about?

@10Broderick @rugby_ap Fair enough. I like the SA teams in the comp, and they do need to make travelling schedule easier. I just don't get the aggro towards tigers, I'm a bath fan and don't get the whinging / complaints at the tigers team tbh

@gi_rld @rugby_ap tbh my gripe is more towards AP than yourself. I know there are those in the English rugby media that don't want the SA sides in there, mostly due to cost / logistics, that 11 bok rotation didn't help that but i think he's giving them more O2 than they deserve

@10Broderick @rugby_ap Never said the defeat wasn't Tigers fault. They weren't good enough and would never be good enough to beat UBB simple as. Just comparing two entirely different situations deserves a response. Not my fault you didn't know what AP was referring to...
