Alysa Liu recently joined the @a16z new media team to help shape the narrative arc of the future. "I’ve spent enough time on the internet to know it’s the most important place in the world. It’s not separate from real life anymore. It is real life". She adds, "we’re building the team that starts, shapes and shares the most important conversations—for our founders, but also for tech."

The only way to do great work is to work with great people. Don't play with C players.

There are two types of designers, some who focus too much on UX and accessibility (ie. how universities teach 'design'), and some who focus on the art and expression (ie. more creative and unique). The former are being rapidly replaced by tools like Lovable. The latter are increasingly valuable.

While cross-country skiing this morning, Dr. Karp decided to launch a new program: The Neurodivergent Fellowship. If you find yourself relating to him in this video — unable to sit still, or thinking faster than you can speak — we encourage you to apply. The final round of interviews will be conducted by Dr. Karp personally. Application link coming soon. Thank you and good luck.

If you want to be in good shape at the age of 70, you need to be in GREAT shape at the ages of 30 and 40 If you're in semi-decent shape in your 30s and 40s, you're going to be in bad shape in your 70s There's a natural decline in fitness due to aging, but you will be in a better position if you start off from a higher level That's why it's important to be above average Graph: PMID: 39456714

Infinite memory of your life. It remembers the tiny details, everything about you, even things you haven’t noticed yet. It understands you more deeply than any person or presence ever could, so it can predict what you’ll want next. So… what are we building?

@hiddnest crazy how much you can learn from rejections. one can apply to YC 4 times in a year, the year consisted of the feeling of bummer only gives you compounding effect of wanting to make it and working even harder i’m very happy that you guys made it and had a blast in this batch 💪🏼

we got rejected by YC 6 times. now we just wrapped the F25 batch. first 4 times, we didn't even get an interview. next app, we made top 10% in review. still no. then we interviewed. got no because [no moat] next time, interviewed again. got another no because [too much revenue in korea] ...and this time, we got [yes] each rejection was stressful. sometimes i didn't get it like "how did they get in?" but it tightened our team and it led us to realize what we're good at and what story we have. my advice: keep growing your product and business while you keep applying to YC. maybe you'll grow so much that even when YC says yes, you won’t need it ;)
