@lemire Microsoft's products are truly ridiculous. They're only good at getting you to upgrade to a paid plan and draining money from your wallet. Their products are so bad that I'm completely fed up with them.

I am in Microsoft Word. I press Copilot. I ask for a table. The AI can't modify the Word document so it creates a new document in the cloud. It then allows me access the document through a link. Presumably I am supposed to go there, copy the table and put it in my Word document myself. Who designed this ? This is so obviously a low-effort implementation that I am baffled. It is almost as if they wanted to fail. Why can't Microsoft see that having direct access to Microsoft Word is an incredible edge that they could leverage to embed the AI directly? It is almost comical.

This is the kind of operation that can last for days, and Reuters reported the Pentagon is preparing for a sustained, weeks-long operation against Iran. That one fact explains a lot. That is NOT just “higher oil.” That is a full COST shock. Because when oil moves like that, higher diesel, higher shipping, higher power costs, and higher inflation pressure all hit at once. And that is NOT bullish for any market that needs cheap energy and easy money to survive. This can still end as a short shock. But if it stretches, and if Monday is the day the market starts pricing a ground-operation phase, it becomes a completely different market. Not a dip. Not a fake panic. A REAL regime shift in oil, inflation, and risk. I’ve studied macro for 10 years and I called almost every major market top, including the October BTC ATH. Follow and turn notifications on. There are no aliens. Even if there were (and there aren't) they would have no way of getting here. The distances are simply too vast. Far, far too vast. The nearest star outside of our own sun is 4.2 light-years away. No aliens, no matter how clever, will ever be able to travel anywhere near the speed of light. The laws of physics prevent it. To accelerate any mass at all (even a pebble) to anything approaching even 1/3rd the speed of light would take incomprehensibly vast amounts of energy. You need a lot of spaceship (and I mean YUGE) to hold that much energy. So, now you've got a heck of a lot more than a pebble to move. Your energy problem just got infinitely worse. It's impossible folks. ET ain't out there, and even if he was, he ain't dropping by for a visit.

Now that Minimax 2.5 came out open source, as a free to run Ai model that runs on your local machine while delivering close to Opus 4.5 level results: shift towards buying PCs will accelerate. As once you pay for such a spec once, you won't need to pay for subscriptions. And you'll have your privacy instead of sending all your data to servers of AI companies. Blackmarkets on PC parts is sure to happen because: 99% of the world hasn't awakened to the fact that the age of true/useful AI has arrived in the last 2 months. They will in the next 6 months. Most businesses will want their privacy and cost efficiency. Most vibe coders will want these shiny new toys, that will be the specs to run local AIs. They will be the new Ferraris and Rolexes. Except these toys will be useful to spawn countless agents working for you for free after you pay the initial hardware costs. Except electricity, which you can handle by moving to a free electricity rental. I have 0 doubt that PC part demand will skyrocket within the next 6 months, and most parts that are great at running AIs will start to have blackmarkets on eBay etc. If you wanna be early to the movement and already vibe coding give the article below a read to choose the right PC spec for yourself:
