2 visits to the US this year means 2 bags of @TheSporkful Cascatelli have made their way home. I’ve been podfluenced!

SOOO to u RF lovers, do you get the 24-70 2.8 OR the 28-70 2.0?

@Astr0Isha It weighs more, if that's too much is up to the individual. The price diff is also significant. I would recommend hiring both for a few days, take them for a spin and see which you prefer. For a big purchase, it's worth the money, imo.

@stalman Veeeery slow operation was what stopped me in the end, but it’s for sure a beauty in many other respects!

I didn’t end up buying it but it was hard not to. This one is in PERFECT condition, optical viewfinder, flat profile, tiny LCD. What’s not to love ❤️

@Glitter_brawl I was encouraged as a child to always blow my nose “from the boots” and now that’s just in the ol’ brainbox forever. Bonus round: I recently learned my parents referred to the sound of their new doorbell as “the bong”, whereupon I had The Talk with them. Innocents, both.

I would like to hear about “bits” you do in your own home that literally only you find funny. I have a handful of things that only I find funny and I will be blunt: everyone else’s fatigue over the bit or general bafflement is part of that. Here are a few of mine:

@Astr0Isha @CorinneDinDin Yeah, cheaper than used and far cheaper than new from Canon UK. Lots of folks I know have bought this way with no issues that I've heard of.

@giloscope @CorinneDinDin interesting, i guess the risk you take it being £600 off a canon manufactured and nearly 1.6k off a brand new from canon?

@CorinneDinDin @Astr0Isha ...I've never experienced this myself, having had a couple of bodies purchased like this. However, it explains why the seller offers their own extended warranty, rather than it being via the manufacturer. Hey, I'm boring!

@CorinneDinDin @Astr0Isha Panamoz and a few other similar sellers (usually the ones with mad cheap prices like this) are so-called "grey market" imports, as they are sold from regions with different VAT/sales tax situations. Almost never an issue, but Canon UK/EU technically can refuse service on them...

@Astr0Isha I’ve experienced them trying this so many times. Did it once or twice years ago, and never again. The value added to a festival to have good press images is worth them spending money on making sure their photographers are safe and rested, absolutely no question.

@stalman I'm averaging 3.5 years based on my purchasing since 2007 - the upgrade cycle from the Intel 16" to M1 Max was by far the quickest (2 years) and most significant yet. I'd expect to be back on ~3 years again now.

@EastMidRailway Hi, I booked a ticket for the 12:15 train on Sunday 18th from Loughborough to London, which is no longer scheduled. Is my ticket valid on other trains that day, or do I need to rebook?
