@BBCTomEdwards Tom, the ‘blind spot’ is exactly the same size and shape of the ASL box painted at pretty much every major road junction. If the lorry has such poor visibility it shouldn’t really be allowed on the road. Stop painting an area for bikes to use then telling them not to use it?!

Exchanging places to show lorry blind spots. Met also using VR headsets to get into schools & educate those not as mobile. Although campaigners say its missing the point & roads should be made safer

@BriggsCampaign The age of the law is irrelevant,it existed, was used,somebody was prosecuted and imprisoned. Rather than working on a road safety review to look at why the same outcome isn’t achieved for 1700 deaths by vehicles we’re whipping up hysteria about a problem that doesn’t exist.

Well no, I’m not actually. Your argument is quite a valid one about how the EXISTING law is applied to drivers. In Kim’s case there was NO proper law to apply - an imperfect law had to be dragged from the 19th century.
