Joined the e-bikers today. Very very busy. Couple of hairy moments away from the bike lanes. £4.53 for 20mins to do 3 miles but doable. Not sure I’d fancy it if it was my first time.. @BBCLondonNews 1830 BBC1
@frankamat1@BBCLondonNews Actually in London, if we are talking about the Tfl network it’s the tube fares that pay for those roads. VED goes to Central Govt. Local roads are paid by council tax.
@BBCTomEdwards@BBCLondonNews I recall when bus lanes were for both cyclists and buses now buses have no priority just cyclists. Remind me what do cyclists pay for their infrastructure that owners of vehicles don't already
Cycling on ebike today while filming - roads very busy. Lots of roadworks and congestion - a dream on the cycle lanes. Ok in the bus lanes. Some red light jumping by riders and had to take evasive action to avoid a U-turning cab who I assume didn’t see me. 1/2
Also definite split between e-bikes and non-powered bikes in terms of getting away from lights and speeds. The bike lanes looked full early on. Weather helped. Same again Friday morning ?
Latest tfl stats show:
Oyster taps down 13% (people stayed away)
50% services ran (50% didn’t)
Cycle hire up 14%
LATE START TUBE 0730 tomorrow which is the big test
@BBCTomEdwards A40 westway daily coverage. Gallows Corner Havering, 1 report even though it’s been closed for 10-months, over running by 6 supposed to be open this month, but still no date - no pressure on TFL
