Policy Dialogue on MSME Growth with Shri Vinamra Mishra at MCCIA MCCIA had the privilege of hosting Shri Vinamra Mishra, Joint Secretary (MSME), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, for an engaging interaction with MSME entrepreneurs in Pune. The meeting focused on key Union Budget 2026–27 announcements for MSMEs, the proposed AI initiatives for MSMEs, and discussions around the Green Transition Programme, including energy efficiency, green electricity, carbon reporting, and monetisation opportunities. - As per reports coming in about MH budget there is no mention of new #pune airport. - Here is a possible solution and probably a different/ unpopular thought process. - With Navi Mumbai airport coming up and the road travel between Pune and NMIA likely to reduce ,hence we may want to reconsider the new airport requirements. We may reach an informed decision of continuing with the present day airport. - The new terminal seemed impossible a few years ago but now has given enough access to better pax services and comfort. So there are some solutions which are not too obvious but achievable. - Tne present day airport has two major challenges for civil aviation a) It has less parking space on Civil Tarmac. b) There is an exclusive “ Military Block “ for 2:30 hours each day. This restricts the pax traffic from 0900-1130 ( winter timing ) - The way to overcome these challenges a) Request for some more space adjacent to the present terminal. b) Look at possible ways to have a smaller GA terminal on other side of present day civil terminal. This can be done. Jamnagar had some stop gap time being arrangement few months ago. Hindon has commenced civil operations. c) Look at more efficient ways to reduce the exclusive military slot. This will help to plan more flights. - A probable vague thought is to try to think how can the military flying in Pune be reduced/ shifted. There are instances where the use of air power and its effective place of deployment has changed in last few decades. Plus the entire concept of “ Theatre “ will refine some concepts. How and where the air bases will be is a matter of continuous assessment and they do change. It just needs some study and we may still reach a conclusion that it is “ not possible “ However there is also a possibility that we may say “ thoda bahut adjust karne se ho jayega “ PS: I say this with all my emotions and my unconditional love for Indian Air Force. @aparanjape @sudhirmehtapune @mohol_murlidhar

At Rs 51 lakh crore, Maharashtra's GSDP is $560 to $600 depending upon the exchange rate (91 to 84 range). With nominal growth rate of 10.4%, it will take 5 or 6 years (2031-32) to grow to $1 tn economy.
