@gjdavis @zei_squirrel @Eric_Doherty 17 cents on the dollar for real charities in Canada. Not the massive tax right offs that benefit the billionaires and their own 'charitable' foundations.

@gjdavis @zei_squirrel @Eric_Doherty Not when it's cheating us of the taxes we need for schools, hospitals, research & a Guaranteed Basic Livable Income #GLBI

Portugal's infrastructure minister gets it:
“If we simply replace all combustion cars with electric cars, we will end up with the same kind of congestion... same unsustainable levels of road accidents, and the same struggle for public space.”

Every road engineer and and decision makers should experience this. 😀

@Eric_Doherty @zei_squirrel Regarding your question, my donations, I don't think so. I would hope that organizations doing "nasty stuff" don't get charitable status. I guess the term "nasty stuff" is to vague for me.
English

@gjdavis @zei_squirrel Do you donate to nasty charities doing nasty stuff like trying to delay climate action?
English
@Eric_Doherty @zei_squirrel Because you don't agree with something doesn't make it "far right", unless you are "far left". Not everything that isn,t in the middle is extreme.
English
@Eric_Doherty @zei_squirrel This is your idea of "far right"? I think there is a lot to the right of this. Some right leaning charities do good work.
English
@Eric_Doherty @zei_squirrel I have some difficulty being that negative all the time. I don't have a problem with giving money to charity to avoid taxes. I do it. I even have my own DAF. Is that bad?
English

@gjdavis @zei_squirrel If a (fascist, or climate delayer, or whatever nasty) billionaire gives money to a 'charity' they control, what do you think their 'charity' will promote? 'Charity' does not always mean good, it just means tax deductible. (eg. Some far right think tanks have charitable status)

@RStraatsma @MaxCSVictoria @saanich @CapitalBikeCa @Dean_Murdock @zacdevries @KarenInSaanich @ColinPlant2022 This is a mistake. People will cross the street from that 7 eleven, and have to get off their bike to enter the lane.

English

@gjdavis @MaxCSVictoria @saanich @CapitalBikeCa @Dean_Murdock @zacdevries @KarenInSaanich @ColinPlant2022 Again, there are plenty of gaps to allow passing - & access in&out of driveways.

English
@RStraatsma @MaxCSVictoria @saanich @CapitalBikeCa @Dean_Murdock @zacdevries @KarenInSaanich @ColinPlant2022 It's great if there are gaps. There is no reason not to. Unless necessary, they shouldn't be wide enough to admit a car. These look like long runs without gaps:

Bonus: go ride Esquimalt Road, in either direction, crossing Head and then tell me all about this fun disappearing/reappearing bike lane hazard non-sense garbage.
Ps. @EsquimaltBC please fix this. It’s horrible, even for a painted bike lane, and that’s saying a lot.
English

I’m sure this will change exactly zero minds… but the @vicpdcanada officers were parked in the yellow section. The MVA 183.2.c states that cyclists must, “…ride as near as practicable to the right side of the highway…” which many read as “possible” but that’s not it.
