This would redraw the state’s congressional districts to give Democrats significantly more seats heading into the midterm elections. In a video that is playing constantly in Virginia, Barack Obama claims President Trump is attempting to rig the upcoming midterm elections. He says the only way to “Stop Trump” is to vote yes on Virginia’s newly redistricted maps on April 21st: “Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy, but right now they’re under threat… In April, Virginians can respond by making sure your voting power is not diminished by what Republicans are doing in other states. This amendment gives you the power to level the playing field in the midterms this fall. And voters will have the final say over what the maps look like. Virginia, we are counting on you. Republicans want to steal enough seats in Congress to rig the next election,” Obama says in the video. Obama’s Virginia ad is paid for by Virginians for Fair Elections, which is funded by Eric Holder’s @EricHolder National Democratic Redistricting Committee and House Democratic leadership members, including Whip Katherine Clark @WhipKClark.
