Tata and ASML 🤝 Let me tell you why this is so big! - ASML is the “chokepoint” of the entire global chip industry ASML (Dutch company) has a near-monopoly on advanced lithography machines These lithography machines are ultra-precise tools that literally “print” the tiny circuits on silicon wafers. These machines are used to manufacture virtually every cutting-edge chip on the planet • Without ASML’s lithography suite, modern fabs simply can’t ramp up efficiently. • These tools are heavily export-controlled (e.g., advanced versions are largely blocked from China due to US/Dutch geopolitics). Earlier, China tried to tamper it(prob reverse engineer) but to no avail... And India securing a deep strategic partnership and getting ASML’s full support is a massive vote of confidence. Very few countries get this level of access... Massive whitepill for India🫡🫡🫡

Majority of people won’t realise the importance of this single MoU if it actually materialises. Getting ASML to the negotiation table itself is a massive achievement. Giving Tata access to ASML’s advanced lithography ecosystem is a critical step toward building India’s domestic semiconductor supply chain and reducing strategic dependence on East Asia.

FYI : ASML is a Dutch company that holds a near-monopoly on EUV lithography machines, the key technology used to manufacture the world’s most advanced microchips. It supplies chipmaking equipment and software to companies like TSMC, Samsung, and Intel.

ASML is the backbone of global chip manufacturing. This partnership can help build India’s semiconductor ecosystem

A joyous moment for every Indian! Chola Copper Plates dating back to the 11th Century will be repatriated to India from the Netherlands. Took part in the ceremony for the same in the presence of Prime Minister Rob Jetten. The Chola Copper Plates are a set of 21 large plates and 3 small plates and largely contain texts in Tamil, one of the most beautiful languages of the world. They relate to the great Rajendra Chola I formalising an oral commitment made by his father, King Rajaraja I. They also showcase the greatness of the Cholas. We in India are immensely proud of the Cholas, their culture and their maritime prowess. I thank the Government of the Netherlands and Leiden University in particular, where the Copper Plates were kept since the mid-19th century. @MinPres

Reminded of the reference to the Nagai (Leiden) Plates during our #EnMannEnMakkal Yatra in Nagapattinam in December 2023. Today, two years later, our beloved PM Thiru @narendramodi avl is bringing these historic plates back to India, restoring a priceless chapter of Chola history to its rightful homeland.
