I started playing Factorio for the first time a few days ago. I’m pretty sure I’ve learned some very important lessons about technical debt and pipeline back-pressure from this game.

Small startup I'm now at is ready to hire a (non-web, sr.) developer. Resumes we're getting by posting through "the usual places" are disappointingly homogeneous. Do you have suggestions for outlets where we could post/announce that might give us better diversity?

New startup I just joined is starting to build a custom containerization system and API to allow for deploying portable apps across different satellites. Yes, "edge computing In Space." We're hiring, if you'd like to do this too.

So... for programming in Python, if I want to go from "can read and add debug prints" to "passably able to write in it" in the minimum number of hours, what resource(s) would y'all recommend? My default would be the language site, but that feels slow.

@lisacrispin Working in a team that pairs most of the code and I do learn at least something out of any pairing session, even (or especially?) with the newest colleagues. Be it coding stuff, tech tricks, a different perspective or teaching and communication skills.

@larsrosenquist @MaritvanDijk77 @lisacrispin We have a rule: code that was paired doesn’t need to be separately reviewed, all other code needs a review before being merged into master. Everyone now chooses pairing over reviewing after doing it a couple of times ☺️

I fixed frontend things in a website built in a language I don't know. 💪 (Sometimes it helps to be stubborn)
