@RJDhowzat Placid wicket. Davey or tattersall his replacement, tatts done well but a lot of players could have gone big. Ahmed does score quickly which may have helped but probably to no avail. Not really the point I was making though.
English

@glennylion good game for Rehan to miss from your ‘strength of the team’ argument Andy. However I accept he could have filled his boots with a big one….
English

@RJDhowzat @leicsccc You have a deeper squad than us but doesn't make it right. I don't like that it is 24 hours before a game. I don't like how it's allowed, facilitated and encouraged. I don't like the congratulatory nature of the announcement and the dismissive approach to the fans and the game
English

@glennylion @leicsccc As a Somerset fan I witnessed ’live’ Banton’s 371 in last yrs round 1 of CC. Miffed that he‘s benching in IPL, but hey, we’re top after 3 rounds and no one’s too bothered. It’s all so subjective and I’ll keep paying the coin to enjoy all formats, stars or not

Leicestershire County Cricket Club has announced that Rehan Ahmed will join the Delhi Capitals for the remainder of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) and will fly out to join the team immediately.
Rehan joins Harry Gurney and Stuart Broad and becomes the third of Leicestershire’s academy graduates to be selected in what is widely regarded as the biggest franchise competition in world cricket - a landmark moment for both player and club.
Good luck, Reh! Go and smash it! 👊

@RJDhowzat @leicsccc Yes Bob, each to their own but I don't see weakening a team as a positive. Re giving a youngster a chance, this is CC div 1, round 3, not a pre season trial. When I turn up next weekend to watch a weaker team play the filth, I can't sit there and think "well it's great for Rehan"
English

@glennylion @leicsccc Each to their own Andy. I’m very old school going back many decades however this is great for Rehan and gives Leic a chance to give another youngster an opportunity. I pay my money for both TV and live cricket. Nice to have the options
English

@KP24 Judging by your comments about Cook's opinion as he didn't play IPL, how can you comment on the current strength of championship cricket when you don't play it? You played it previously, but you don't play it now, so by your own interpretation, your comments can be ignored.
English

@MeasonCarl I refuse to believe that there is a side worse than us at crossing the ball. Utterly atrocious
English

How can professionals not be able to cross a ball time and time again. See kids do it down the park every weekend. #lcfc
English

@FANGOFOX77 Legend. I'll be at the home game against the filth. Hope to catch up then.
English

@LCFC Sell them, release them, do whatever you have to do so that these lads have a chance not to be burdened or dragged down by the millstone of what we have become.

@glennylion @BantheGoldKit @surreycricket @leicsccc The pitch was below standard, neither team were getting 20 wickets here
English

The teams shake hands with Surrey 263/4, with Ollie Pope 83 not out.
It was great to welcome over 10,000 people to our first home match of the summer. Thanks for the brilliant contest, @leicsccc. We’ll see you later in the year. 🤝

@akiburner11 @BantheGoldKit @surreycricket @leicsccc I'm not aggrieved, Just one of those things that early season weather affects outcomes. The wicket however didn't cause catches to go down. If they get taken, matches change. Had Weatherald, Hill, Cox gone early it could have been different....but they didn't and it wasn't
English

@glennylion @BantheGoldKit @surreycricket @leicsccc You don’t need to feel so aggrieved I’m pretty sure we can all agree it was a terrible cricket pitch!
English

@BantheGoldKit @akiburner11 @surreycricket @leicsccc Thankfully for Surrey it wasn't just the weather that saved them, looks like a "pathetic" pitch also saved them.
English

@georgecurtis22 @stevesimms13 @foxyphill @lcccmembers Respectfully disagree. A number of issues I'd disagree with him on but could not doubt his quality on comms. We obviously have differing opinions and requirements in a commentary.

Richard Rae, our Radio Leicester commentator for 13+ years, is about to be released by the station for financial savings. If enough of us can let the station know of our disagreement with the decision, they might just reconsider. Contact me if you can help
English

@leicsccc But still weak. Can't drop catches. 2 brain parts by Patel, silly shot a matter of a few balls before close and the run out is criminal. Ahmed brain fart. Hill?? Handscomb solidified the middle, not sure where that comes from now. I fear a massive Surrey score on the horizon
English

RESULT | Sussex win by 222 runs.
Defeat in our opening game of the 2026 campaign. We travel to The Kia Oval to take on Surrey, 10th - 13th of April.

Firstly, the sliding stop to save the boundary... But then, a direct hit from there is OBSCENE! 🤯
