@astrm_labs is not building another product. We are building the foundation of a sovereign, AI-native defense ecosystem for India. This is not a narrow mission. It is not a comfortable path. It is the hard, unforgiving work of forging autonomy, edge AI, and machines into something the nation can rely on when everything is at stake. This work will demand more than you think you have. It will take time, energy, and certainty from you. And it will give back purpose. If you want your life’s work to matter, to build with your hands and mind in service of the nation, then we should talk. Join @astrm_labs. Build what must exist.

I look at the CNC machines that we designed and built and think “we made something so complex work perfectly. What an achievement” and then I would watch a video of ASML’s High-NA EUV machine and then I’m humbled immediately. Need to keep building.

My turn to tell a story. We urgently needed nickel plated steel strips. Our vendor forgot to load them in the container, and production was stopped I thought, it's a simple strip, surely available in India. Inquired through our network Got some recommendations, sent RFQs, and then…. Silence. Crickets chirping. Desperate, I asked a friend in China. He quoted specification, sizes & options within 3 minutes. Price was ridiculously cheap, I immediately ordered, Material was in my hotel within 3 hours. Luckily @SagarAwatade was with me in China and was kind enough to carry the material back to Mumbai with him. Problem solved. But the BIGGER PROBLEM remains: Why are we still importing even basic items like this from China in 2026?

Let me tell you a story - for 6 months we chased the 2 biggest toothbrush manufacturers in india for a quote & sample. We didn't get a response - the chinese vendor who produces 1 bn sticks a month, sent a quote in 3 days, sample in 7 and key line in 15. 14k moq - we buy monthly

Help needed with an idea to take my 8yo into the China maker ecosystem (hardware + AI / physical AI). We’ve been told China is currently the best place for this. Looking at: -Chaihuo Maker Space -Maker Camp Shenzhen -Short stop at Xinchejian (Shanghai) Your recommendation? Yes / No — why? Or anything better we should consider (labs, factories, people)? Goal: experience the scale, innovation, and latest manufacturing tech — fully hands-on, not just exposure.

Oh boy! This really looks great in hand. 2 months back, I had to redo this thing because of tolerance issue: lnkd.in/gzsRKQDX Now its perfect. We 3D printed with H2D and I am literally surprised that it was able to print this (though fdm can't print this small perfectly). However, making body is not the hardest part! We are literally struggling to get custom rivet and springs of this small size from vendors. Most of them lack capability and others don't want to make it in less MOQ. Getting diametrically magnetised magnets is near to impossible in small size too in India. It's really hard to make things in India. I am literally thinking about making our own spring and rivets. Also body of this things needs to be made with SLA. Feels like..., to make it viable for production, we will have to get our own SLA 3D printer in house, huhh! Going forward we would have to make our own lean manufacturing capabilities and pcb assembling as vendors take too much time. There is a reason China is so good. And we are always bad in speed and service. Too many bad characters are in market. Complaints apart, let's see in how many days we can go to production with this joystick and what price. Right now we will only make less than 100 at a time. At last, this redo was only possible because of Lord Mihir Wankhade 🙏 . PS: I literally write these as public logs and these imperfections are the proof that we built things here completely in India and didn't take so called "smart" path of assembling everything.

I’ve been trying to solve this for a long time. As a dad, I didn’t want my son to miss the right opportunities - hackathons, grants, the right people. But finding them, reaching out, applying… it’s exhausting. But, I have to do it. Tried building this with OpenClaw earlier. Too complex. So I built Junior. Junior continuously finds the best opportunities, figures out who to reach, prepares everything, and tells me exactly what to do — right on WhatsApp. I don’t search or guess anymore. I just act. Honestly… a relieved dad now. @buildwingman @emergentlabs
