As for the ISR, these aircraft (and tankers) have been publicly known to regularly be present. Since multiple aircraft have been hit, I think ballistic missiles make more sense as the delivery platform (and it could have been worse if Iran had used a cluster warhead.

The apparent warhead size (since this part of the aircraft is unlikely to suffer significant secondary fire/explosion) seems way too big for small drone(s).
