I did not vote for Harris or Biden. I will not be voting for a Democrat at the national level.

@Aella_Girl America has not tried democracy yet. America has tried to sell this republic as a democracy, though.

i do think ai extinction risk is deadly serious, but these people aren't banning data centers for that reason. They're doing it for much, much stupider reasons. It's a shame we haven't figured out how to install a better alternative to democracy
Dean W. Ball@deanwball

If you needed a reminder of why America’s founders were deeply skeptical of democracy and the will of the masses, there is none better than the fact that the American people seem to be enthusiastically banning a wave of industrialization before it has even begun in earnest.

@Stalkingyouisfn @bronzeageshawty The only concern is that it seems like 401k and 529 funds are a way to increase stock market value with works assuming risk for what used to be corporation benefits.

@bronzeageshawty After my first full year of contributing to my 401k, it has doubled in value every year for the last five years. I'm okay with this.

401ks are stupid. "Wow, I can't wait to finally have 600 thousand dollars at age 65 to last me the next 20 years. I'm glad I spent 40 years as a slave."

@jbillinson @sunnyright You know TSA is a problem if people are connecting through the moon to go coast to coast and avoid the 3oz rule.

@SNAFU_Sara Yes, I had that problem as well prior to LASIX. The difference in refraction required to see the 50m versus 300m targets causes a refocusing of the eye. I could see up to the 200m without issue and only knew about the 250m and 300m because I have the timing memorized.

@nypost It is cowardly to not name the insurance company when you name the patient. HIPAA protects the patient not the insurance company.

Hundreds of millions of people throughout the world are immersed in extreme poverty. Yet, disproportionate wealth remains in the hands of a few. It is an unjust scenario, in the face of which we cannot fail to question ourselves and commit to change things. There is no lack of resources at the root of disparities, but the need to address solvable problems related to a more equitable distribution of wealth, to be achieved with moral sense and honesty.

@DebtCrisisOrg Public student loan forgiveness is an admission that student loans are a permanent burden that will destroy certain careers. It is insufficient to change the perception of those professions, though.

@glynnlc @Coleidoscopes The US is the largest volunteer based military is it not? A number of nations conscript soldiers I don't see them fleeing those nations.

I don't think anyone should go to prison for refusing the registry or being drafted. I don't think either should exist. The country should be good enough to produce willing soldiers, or the government needs to take a hard look at their failures and be scared enough to fix what they broke.

@glynnlc @dosegenderos You'd almost think this is the reason alternative energies were rushed through as it was, to make the escalation less catastrophic in developed countries. They could've closed the Strait at any time in the 50 years they've been been preaching "death to America."

@LunalNewport The lesson was that polical leaders see more commonalities in each other than anything occurring to the average citizen. We have always been a republic not a democracy.
