@ArchonDrake_DRG @Actually_Tina It'd be cool if, for instance, if 8.0 were an Ilsabard expansion, we start seeing Garleans show up in Gridania, Limsa and Ul'dah in 7.5 as refugees that Ala Mhigo refused to take for obvious reasons. If shard shenanigans are happening, show some weird ripplings of it.

@ArchonDrake_DRG @Actually_Tina Yep. That's something they definitely need to fix in 8.0. OC-like content should be standard in existing zones. You still end up congregating in places, though. Skybox, NPC and doohickey changes around cities to show the passage of time are possible. Already happen, a bit.

You know, I kind of hope we get an act of terror in the msq that alters the map. Haven't had that since 5.4/5.5 with the towers

@ArchonDrake_DRG @Actually_Tina Yeah. It's something XIV badly needs. The phasing tech is there, idk why it doesn't happen more often. They did it with the ships sieging Tuli and S9 after various attacks, and especially did it with Living Memory, but those were either very brief or isolated

@gmElezen @Actually_Tina WoW has continually done it, not just in BFA. Argus in the sky in Legion, Icecrown’s skybox and the Maw growing in Shadowlands, and just recently with the sunwell and darkwell in Midnight. And also just the bevy of world events added.

@Actually_Tina FFXI's Wings of the Goddess expansion was a time travel story that had alternate versions of capitals in a different time period marked with am (S) on the zone list. It'd be awkward but cool if we could visit old places for gameplay reasons but see a changed world at max lvl(2/2)

@Actually_Tina I'm not sure how they do it. WoW did it in the worst possible way but had they executed it better, but it was actually cool that they blew up two capitals in BFA Unsure how they do that in XIV when it's all frozen in time to accommodate sprouts. Could WotG it, ig (1/2)

@_EgoMayhem The Final Days pushed the T rating but had less of a lasting scar on the setting than... Baelsar's Wall did, or a successful peace between man and dragon causing three patches of intense lingering issues

@_EgoMayhem Was nothing stopping it before. I watched a sprout stream the end of 3.5 and I'd forgotten how grisly it was. EW's Final Days were a terrifying concept and Meteion was creepy I think the issue is more that we haven't had lasting negative consequences from things in a while

@Actually_Tina In the official announcement they stated absolutely nothing in the content would change. Which is slightly disappointing. I don't need catgirls saying fuck but I generally like looser restrictions in bloody stories Though 3.5's ending still managed to be gruesome

Given its CERO its probably something genuinely stupid like they asked them to put in the void to cover characters underwear or something I do wonder if it will lead to "darker" scenes but im pretty sure it was something like this they wanted to avoid
