Why does it cost upwards of £1K a week for someone to live in a care home? This is an extortionate amount of money. Why is this never investigated? Considering care workers earn a relatively low wage then there’s a lot of people out there making a lot of money out of people suffering.

I feel so sorry for any elderly person who struggles with online admin / isn’t online and doesn’t have a support network to help with online admin. Almost everything is online or automated now. And for those who aren’t online (in particular the elderly), they are marginalised.

BREAKING RIGHT NOW: Metropolitan Police have now confirmed the investigation into Scott Mills involved a boy who was UNDER SIXTEEN. Up until this point, the accuser was only described as "a teenager". Silence from the BBC and Mills cannot stand. What did they know and when? Is there any evidence that has been presented to them? Does Mills proclaim his innocence?

I am deeply concerned by the @scott_mills story, following his sacking by @BBC. Mills was allegedly investigated by the Metropolitan Police, with a file handed to the CPS who decided there was insufficient evidence to prosecute. If an individual can be investigated, cleared of prosecution due to insufficient evidence, & still face professional ruin, then we are entering dangerous territory. Institutions must be very careful not to substitute due process with reputational expediency. Justice cannot operate on suspicion alone, nor can fairness be preserved if allegations—untested in a court of law—are treated as proof. We must ask ourselves: are we upholding justice, or quietly dismantling it?
