Mean commute time is better than it's been since 2016 . . . My guess is that the distribution of commute times tells a different story.

Incredible asymmetry in office right now. Yes, it's grim, but not if you've got new, Class A stuff. The premium for the good stuff is ~60% relative to everything else. (@Gmarans)

Always gets a reaction out of people. Some good, some bad

My pal @Gmarans shared this a couple years ago, & I never get tired of mentioning it: Real estate isn’t rocket science. Not even close. Real estate is much harder. And before you cancel me, here’s the logic. Rocket science is physics. And there are laws to physics. Which are immutable and don’t change. Once you learn the laws you can navigate that world. In real estate there are no rules. There is no blueprint. No script. Experience matters but all negotiations are unique. The dynamics shift constantly because it’s about people and egos. And what’s more unpredictable than sensitive psyches? But there are common themes to successful people in the real estate game. Resilient, adaptable, quick learning polymaths. And if you think this post is self-serving, then you’re right. Although I’m still trying to figure out if Newton had more than 3 laws.

@acshapiro It’s like when my wife asks me which team I’m rooting for and my answer is almost always “I just want to see good ball”

You know you work in CPG consulting when… You go shopping at Target for a few things And you end up roaming the grocery and skincare aisles and taking pictures of shelf placement and packaging Wife: did you want to get one of those? Me: oh nope, just looking. It’s a really interesting package on the lower shelf there 🤦‍♂️

In CRE, when times are great, it’s a landlord’s market due of supply constraints. When times are bad, (tenant) businesses also struggle. There’s rarely times when it’s truly a tenant’s market quite like when it’s a landlord’s market.

For me this platform has provided the most reach. That being said I put more effort into this platform. My friend @Gmarans re-energized my attitude towards LinkedIn at @creisummit. All the spammy salespeople there can be annoying. Also, most CRE brokers suck at LinkedIn. You can stand out if you do it right

I have had several colleagues tell me that every time they go to a CRE conference and tell someone they are from Houston, the first word that comes out of their mouth is, do you know Coy? This is why you should be here on LinkedIn and other platforms, expanding your connections across the country and the globe.

@Gmarans Hi Gabe. Sorry I missed @creisummit and missed you this year. Sounds like it was Boffo! I wondered if I could ask you how you do that cool thing where you post a tweet over a picture on linkedin. Canva?

I spent two insightful days at a conference (@creisummit) with some of the most passionate commercial real estate creators and influencers. 10 key takeaways (that I think will help any sales professional): 1. It's overwhelming to hear "AI will change everything", but it's extremely helpful to pick one professional skill and find AI tools to improve it. I'm going to turbocharge 'speed to market' with AI. Thankful for @MassimoGroup's advice on this topic. 2. No one is content. Even those with large audiences are seeking to further ditch insecurity and improve their messaging. No influencer has arrived. Refreshing to hear. 3. Pre-qualifying yourself is wonderfully possible in today's real estate world. Go ahead and lay the groundwork for valuable connections and clients with an online resume. Thanks for the tip, @kenashley. 4. You should own and protect your data. I heard some horror stories on this. Time to build a vault. 5. The best social media has always embraced authenticity. As @equalman says, be "flawesome", or flawed and awesome at the same time. 6. Most people miss the point of audience-building. It's about creating AND interacting. Be generous with likes and encouragement to anyone raising the bar of the industry. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain with an insightful and heartfelt comment. 7. Most creators and curators underestimate the impact of their work. It's hard to guess which ideas will inspire people. Most people were surprised at the impact they were making, and which content resonated. I know I was. 8. Publishing should energize, not drain you. If social is a soul-stealing chore, back off and focus on identity and brand before trying to get consistent on any platform. 9. My post-conference mission was clear: Creativity-infused brokerage. Hope you'll join me. 10. Transforming online respect into a real relationship is wonderful. I have interacted with professionals like @Gmarans, @CoyDavidsonCRE, @CREgir1, @FlannCasey, and @BobKnakal for years. These people (and so many more I didn't name) were 100% more impressive in person. That's where the magic happens. Thankful to have been a small part of the #CREiSummit
