Translation: After months of losses, seasonal summer hiring + government bloat delivers one decent print. We're 'building' like a guy who burned down the house and brags about the new deck on the remaining shed. Context: Two straight quarters of GDP contraction = technical recession. Unemployment still at 6.6% (painfully high by historical standards). Youth unemployment? Cratering. Real wages? Stagnant under inflation. Record food bank usage and 12 million on the rebranded GST credit you just called a 'new Groceries Benefit.' This isn't recovery. It's the economic equivalent of celebrating your car starting after flooding the engine — while ignoring the smoke pouring from the hood.Classic Carney: Central banker alchemy — massage the monthly noise, declare victory, hope no one checks the trend.Canada isn't 'building again.' We're patching leaks on a ship you helped steer into the iceberg. Next month's print will be the reality check. Pass the popcorn. 🍿

Translation from Liberal to English: We taxed, inflated, regulated, and carbon-taxed you into grocery-line poverty… then rebranded your existing GST credit as a shiny ‘new’ benefit and mailed you pennies of your own money back while calling it heroism. It’s not stimulus. It’s the Broken Window Fallacy with better graphics. We smash the economy, hand you duct tape, and demand applause. Peak hypocrisy: create the desperation, then monetize the photo-op of ‘saving’ you from it. Next up: the Canada Breathing Air Rebate, after we tax oxygen. Brilliant, Mark. Truly. We’re all so… boosted.

@JasminLaine_ Look deeper? Got it. World’s screaming for oil. Canada sitting on the 3rd largest reserves… and we’re in a technical recession. Google must’ve autocorrected ‘energy superpower’ to ‘policy facepalm.’

Please… if there’s anything I can ask of you—look deeper than the headline. When you see something that makes you think we’re awesome, research the nuance, Google what details may have been omitted. If we were doing fantastic, we wouldn’t be in a recession… we wouldn’t have had to google what a technical recession even was. And our charts would not have consistently been on a downward trend.

If we’re a nation of story tellers, why do we need bill C-11 & C-18 to force people to hear our stories and block the work and stories of everyone who is excluded from “Canadian content” even though they’re Canadian? Pretty rich from a government who actively supports promoting few and suppressing everyone else

@TheBuckYouWill Nothing to do with protection. All to do with another justification to send our tax money to another cause and funnel it into their pockets.

The Metlakatla First Nation has deployed a “nuclear option” by withdrawing consent for the $1.3 billion Ridley Island Energy Export Facility — holding the project hostage to force the Prince Rupert Port Authority into breaching its legal commercial contracts. This serves as a warning that in British Columbia, signed agreements are not safe from escalating Indigenous demands. Read the full story: c2cjournal.ca/2026/04/sign-o…

🚨 BREAKING: The National Post just published Canada’s Lost Liberal Decade. They published 13 charts and facts, that no one can deny. Some key examples: Canada’s GDP per capita in 2014: $51,000 USD. Canada’s GDP per capita in 2024: $55,000 USD. That’s 7.8% growth in TEN YEARS. The US grew 58% in the same period. Business investment: down 30%. Productivity vs the US: 30% behind. Government spending: DOUBLED OECD growth ranking 2014-2022: 28th out of 38 nations. OECD forecast to 2060: DEAD LAST. And what’s left behind? 2 million Canadians at food banks. Youth unemployment at 18%. More debt per Canadian than ever in history. Every dollar of growth came from immigration and borrowing, not productivity. The economy grew. But Canadians didn’t get richer. We just re-elected the party that built this. THE LOST DECADE JUST GOT A SEQUEL.

Were Canada to ban floor crossing, we would be suppressing the individual minds of those we elect, and further concentrating power in party leaders. As things stand now, floor crossing protects independence and keeps pressure on leaders to treat their colleagues well lest they watch those colleagues head elsewhere. Floor crossing – and the threat of it – protects us from a system where those we elect turn into mindless drones serving nothing more than the centralized will of ‘the leader.’ So, whether you agree with Gladu’s decision or not, it is essential to protect the right of MPs to cross the floor. The individual mind is the most precious resource we have.
