BOTSWANA TO HOST INAUGURAL SADC SUSTAINABLE ENERGY WEEK Botswana will make history as the first country to host the SADC Sustainable Energy Week, slated for February 24–28, 2024. This high-profile event will bring together government officials, private sector leaders, civil society, and development partners to advance sustainable energy solutions in the Southern African region. The event will focus on energy access, renewable energy, and energy efficiency, aligning with SADC’s regional energy strategies and global sustainability goals. Attendees can expect keynote speeches, panel discussions, technical sessions, and networking opportunities, fostering regional collaboration for a more sustainable energy future.

ENERGY IS A FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHT The President of the Republic of Botswana, Advocate Duma Gideon Boko encouraged delegates gathered for the SADC Sustainable Energy Week to improve and accelerate regional capacity to make energy accessible as energy is a basic human need.
