My wife spent 16 years building a successful career with one of the largest counties in the country, serving in senior leadership as the Director of IT and HR. She had stability, respect, experience, and a career most people would be grateful to have - and she truly was. But she also had a dream: she wanted to become a flight attendant. She pursued that dream with @united Airlines, received an offer, resigned from her established career, and started over at the bottom. She was willing to sacrifice title, seniority, impressive salary, and comfort to chase something she genuinely wanted. By the time the þIandemic arrived, she had already dedicated seven years of her life to United. Then United gave its employees an ultimatum: take the €0VlD injections or lose your job. I begged her not to do it. She did not want to do it. She held off as long as she possibly could. But after leaving a 16 year upper level management career, starting over, and investing seven years into United, she was placed in an impossible position. She was made to feel that refusing would mean everything she had sacrificed and worked for would be taken from her. Eventually, United sent notice and made the consequences clear.
