@WilfredsGang I’m assuming there were cubicles in the toilets for privacy, and as there was a queue and “they” plural needed the loo, that nobody was going to be alone with this other person? I’m struggling to see what the issue was?

@sharrond62 Ah the old "schools are babysitters" argument. Maybe employers should pick up some babysitting slack, not that schools would close on the 5th day anyway. 🙄

Really? So what are parents supposed to do when they work a 5 day week & don’t get 6 weeks holiday in the summer? Come on!

@SJPRCrypto @StevenJonMiller Might be better if lots of parents home schooled then that would reduce our class sizes and those who dont like teachers or what they do would stop complaining 😊

6 weeks summer 3 weeks Xmas 2 weeks Easter 3 x 1 week half terms Thats 14 weeks, plus approx 5 random teacher training days tagged on where they please.... 15 weeks holiday! Who else gets that amount of downtime? Nobody!! The only way i'd get behind this 4 day week is if they scrapped the summer and half term breaks to make up for the lost learning hours.

🚨BREAKING: Teachers want a 4 day week. Should they receive it? I say ‘No, get your backsides into work and teach the kids. It’s called your job, and your holidays are already massively generous’.

@StevenJonMiller I think most of them already do a 4 day week. The amount of times the teenager in this house comes home and says a teacher wasn’t there today is incredible.

@MaryTilesTexas In the UK 20 degrees Celsius in the winter maybe 25 if it snows. Summer 0 open the windows and put on the electric fan 😄

#staffwellbeing is absolute nonsense - no one is interested in the well-being of adults, the needs of adults or their physical health. As long as the kids are ok, needs are being met, they feel safe etc. The adults don’t matter. #teacherwellbeing #SEND #edutwitter

There's this weird thing where some schools and trusts are insisting on teachers preparing their resources with the school's branding on them. Is this sensible? What's the logic? Why are they asking this?

@LBC @NatashaC When students call me Miss I do not see it as relating to anything other than a form of address to me as a teacher. I go by Ms but I dont tell students to call me that. I even call other teachers miss or sir not because I don't respect their gender it's just a form of address.

@Headteacherchat Why do we need them at all. Kids don't care. Just tell them, today we will be leaving about...xyz then get on with it. We have to do what, why and how. Wasted so much time writing these on a pp when it's up on the board for seconds while I TELL them what we are doing.

Just a thought: How much time could be saved if children didn't have to write out the learning objective or question?

Hi all, Summer School starts on Monday. It has been put on especially to help those who have done nothing this year, those who have just wasted their time and are massively underachieving. As well as the PE and Geography Departments, there may be a few kids as well. Thanks x
