Multi-level framework to assess social variation in response to ecological and social factors: modeled with coral gobies doi.org/10.1111/oik.10… 📷They are hard to find but if you look close enough in a coral, you'll find them zooming through the branches © Catheline Froehlich

Lately I've been spending a lot of hours in front of a computer writing up my theses. But getting to go through photos of these little guys certainly cheers me up!

Tax? Out of 2020-2021 revenue of $150 billion in Australia, 24 Fossil Fuel companies paid not $30 billion, not $30 million, not $30 thousand, just $30. Enough for 6-7 cups of coffee, evenly distributed across the 25 million Australians.

Easy to assume we know about the fishes of Australia and the @GreatBarrierRf but this beautiful fish highlights we still have undescribed marine biodiversity. One new fish species is described as new or newly recorded each week for Australia, the count of 5200 still climbing!
KaiTheFishGuy@FishGuyKai

Paracheilinus amanda, new species. Previously confused for P. rubricaudalis, but is genetically and morphologically distinct in having a dorsal-filament comprising of three segmented rays. Endemic to the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea. Status: extant (new species) 5/9
