Alberta appears like they’re actually considering seceding from Canada.
Y’all think Alberta would make a good 51st state if this actually happened?

BREAKING: Alberta now projected to schedule a referendum to secede from Canada this year. 60% chance.

Bill C-9 is not just another piece of legislation. For many people of faith, it represents a turning point.
For decades, Canada’s Criminal Code included a clear safeguard: if someone expressed an opinion on a religious subject, or based on a religious text, in good faith, that expression could not be prosecuted as hate propaganda. That protection existed for a reason. Parliament understood that religious teaching often involves strong moral language. They wanted to make sure sermons, scripture, and theological debate would never be treated as criminal speech.
Bill C-9 removes that explicit protection.
Supporters say the Charter will still protect religious freedom. But removing a clear safeguard changes the landscape. It shifts the burden onto courts and prosecutors to decide where the line is. When the line becomes uncertain, people begin to self-censor. Pastors start wondering which passages of scripture might trigger complaints. Religious communities start wondering whether long-standing beliefs could suddenly be treated as illegal speech.
Even if someone ultimately wins in court, the process itself will be the punishment, hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees and loss of reputation.
That’s why Bill C-9 matters. But the deeper issue is the direction of the country.
Many people hope that if we simply wait long enough, a future Conservative government in Ottawa will eventually reverse laws like this and restore the balance. But that strategy assumes several things all go perfectly: that a different government is elected, that it has the political strength to reverse course, and that it actually prioritizes undoing these kinds of laws once in power.
That is a lot to bet on.
In the meantime, the system continues moving in the same direction. Waiting and hoping that the Conservative Party of Canada will eventually fix everything is not a strategy. It’s a gamble.
That is why many Albertans want off this sinking ship.
Alberta independence is not about anger or division. It is about self-determination. It is about building a political system that reflects the values of the people who live here, including the fundamental principle that freedom of religion is not conditional or negotiable.
If Alberta becomes independent, those freedoms will be explicitly protected as inalienable rights in our own constitutional framework.
The meme attached to this post captures the reality of the moment. Canada increasingly feels like a ship that is taking on water. Some people undecided about Alberta Independence believe we should stay aboard and hope that the Conservatives will eventually turns it around.
But more and more Albertans are recognizing a harder truth.
Waiting is not a plan. The ship is already underwater water and can’t be saved.
If we want to protect our freedoms, including the freedom to speak and practice our faith without fear of criminalization, then we must be willing to chart our own course.
It is time to build our own future.
It is time to get off the ship.

I have 29,000 followers. I can't get more than 500 views in an hour, despite very high initial engagement rates.
Canadians, such as myself, have come to X in a desperate attempt to speak against the tyrannical ambitions of our government only to be stifled by this censorial algorithm.
X is not a town square. It's seemingly a sophisticated algorithmic propaganda tool where the user becomes the propaganda. If your content doesn't fuel the left vs right slave dialectic, you are buried.

There exists a perpetual reciprocal dynamic between the ruling class and the people. Even the most oppressed groups will eventually rise up in resistance against increasing oppression. We must resist this with the fury of a people who have been pushed too far. This legislation is straight out of Brussels and Davos and will immediately transform Canada into some unrecognizable shade of totalitarian shithole. Pray for The North.

@JeffreyRWRath Just had a conversation at a petition signing in Edmonton with a fellow vet.
A guy I served with for a few years at 1 SVC BN. He now works a federal job with other vets and he said they have all signed the petition.
The movement is strong in the vet world.

🚨BREAKING: The Shia cleric who was filmed at Pearson International Airport in Toronto, arriving from Iran together with his family, has been identified as Hojjatoleslam Morteza Tayyebi. He has recently obtained Canadian citizenship.
Unfortunately, the government of Canada is sheltering these notorious Shia clerics of the Islamic regime, including those who have been directly involved in the killing of Iranian people.

@DavidJPba @JeffreyRWRath Isn't that what they voted for 🤷♀️

In Canada, the primary control over Alberta's oil (including ownership, development, exploration, conservation, and management) rests with the provincial government of Alberta, not the Federal govt. Carney acts like he's in control of Alberta's resources.
Section 92A of the Constitution Act, 1867 provinces have exclusive legislative authority over the exploration for, development, conservation, and management of non-renewable natural resources (like oil and gas) within their borders.

Well, as an Albertan, I can honestly say in my area that I have only met 2 that won't be signing the petition.
There is nothing Canada can offer Alberta to stay NOTHING
The system is thoroughly corrupted at ALL levels and ALL branches across this nation.
The only way forward is a brand new system. To close the loop holes and ensure this never happens again. To have severe penalties for politicians who breach public trust.
The Veteran's warned us to keep watch👇
"LEST WE FORGET"
Canadians forgot
Albertans did not.
The Liberals new world order communism being pushed means this is for ALL the marbles.
Alberta will NEVER allow communism fascism or socialism to take root and spread in Alberta.
The media portrays this as fringe minority and that this is just about pipeline and equalization.
WAKE UP
They are managing civil unrest. They don't want Canadians to see a majority of ALBERTANS are standing up and saying enough.
Do Canadians in the east even know Saskatchewan, and now BC also has prosperity projects for Independence.
Canadians either stand up now or explain to their children and grandchildren why they live in a communist country.
Alberta's children and grandchildren will not have to because Albertans are fighting for their futures RIGHT NOW!
