Unpopular opinion: Korra is more human than any other Avatar plus the show is actually very realistic when it comes explaining people with huge potential. A lot of talented people especially at a young age, start believing they can handle everything on their own. Whether it’s power, fame, money, or success, they move too fast, make reckless decisions, mess up badly, and then slowly learn hard lessons from life. That’s literally Korra. She had insane potential from the beginning, but life humbled her over time and taught her what it truly means to carry that kind of responsibility. LOK teaches more about life than ATLA

@jovememchams I love how TLOk depicts how actual messy teens can be. I relate to this a lot. AlTa is a feel good fantasy. In reality relations are messy, people lie are insecure and make mistakes.

Because Korras team is not supposed to be a formed family dynamic to begin with. ALTA presents Team Avatar as a tight-knit found family formed through surviving war together constantly on the road, while The Legend of Korra intentionally portrays a more modern, emotionally messy friend group made up of teenagers and young adults with careers, romantic complications, personal insecurities, and separate responsibilities. The distance is part of the writing, not a failure of it. Aang’s group represents unity formed through shared survival, while Korra’s represents connection maintained despite emotional messiness and adulthood pulling people in different directions.

Yes. The biggest reason was that Tenzin wanted children to continue the Air Nomad culture, while Lin Beifong did not. As the youngest son of Aang and essentially the last Airbending master at the time, Tenzin carried enormous pressure to rebuild an entire civilization after the Air Nomad genocide. Lin’s personality and life goals were very different she was deeply committed to her work has police chief, and it’s strongly implied she never wanted a large family, or possibly children at all. Then Pema entered Tenzin’s life. She openly admired him, shared his spiritual values, and wanted to build a family with him. According to the show’s backstory, Pema confessed her feelings to Tenzin while he was still with Lin, and eventually Tenzin ended the relationship. It was painful for Lin, and you can still feel some lingering bitterness early in the series, but neither side was really portrayed as wrong. They simply wanted very different futures.

In the Avatar World, Do you know what hand-to-hand combat means ?? It means fighting without your bending. There is no place where korra fought hand-to-hand without her bending. I'm not denying the fact that korra is a good fighter on a street level and she combines different martial arts when fighting, those combination are based on the fact that she's the Avatar, but against Katara in water bending combat only,, korra is nowhere near katara let's be honest. Even If I'm to Rank water bending masters from ATLA & LOK, korra won't be in Top 5 and its not Glazing. You cannot tell me that Korra is a good water bending fighter than Katara, Master Pakku, Chief Tonraq, Chief Unalaq, Amon, & Hema. This is not hate on Korra or anything, I'm just being FACTUAL...

What is waterbending’s true ability? Airbison fly through airbending. Airbenders later unlocked flight. Zaheer proved it. Badgermoles use seismic sense. Earthbenders mastered it. Toph Beifong refined it into combat awareness. Dragons bend true fire. They change flame color and intensity at will. Firebenders inherited fragments of that style. Now waterbending comes from the Moon and Ocean Spirits. Tui and La. So what’s its “original” ability?

@OmoAlade007 We are just noticing it in air nomads. Same with all other tribes. Culture and mastery is dying away with time, and technology advancement. That's why taga was more stronger and learned in air than aang even though they are both masters. If not, they'd be equals.

Something I’ve noticed about the evolution of Air Nomads throughout the Avatar timeline is really interesting. During Avatar Wan’s era, the airbender tattoos looked completely different, and airbenders seemed far more spiritually advanced. Wan’s era airbenders could glide and maneuver through the air almost effortlessly without staffs. Then in the leaked Legends movie, Tagah’s tattoo was completely different again. After that, Aang’s generation has another tattoo design entirely. Now in Avatar: Seven Havens, the Airbending master we saw doesn’t even appear to have tattoo at all. At this point I’m starting to wonder if the tattoos represent more than just mastery. Could they symbolize spiritual connection, identity, or even power levels? Because as time passes, the Air Nomads seem to slowly lose parts of their original culture and abilities. It genuinely feels like the further we move away from Wan’s era, the more disconnected airbenders become from their original identity. Or wat do you guys think?

@fwmann1e We are overrating this flight stuff. He wouldn't kill his love because of flight. If it was that important, he would have killed her so he could defeag tenzin. The plan was already carried out, and then pli died suddenly. It was more of an emotional load he let go to fly.

Fun fact: If P’li didn’t die, Zaheer would never have been able to fly, because she was the only thing still bonding him to the earth So now the real question is: would Zaheer have killed P’li himself just to unlock flight and achieve his idea of natural order

@fwmann1e True. Same reason why korra couldn't bend platinum chains. They consist of pure metal with no earth impurities.

Toph Beifong invented metalbending because she could sense the tiny bits of earth inside metal and manipulate them. Lavabending is different. It’s not just earth inside fire it’s a separate advanced skill that comes from specific conditions and rare talent, not just seismic sense. So metalbending doesn’t automatically lead to lavabending, they’re two different branches of earthbending mastery.
