My experience is that it is players and agents balking at multi-year deals much more than the schools.

Exactly.👇 In order for multi-yr college athlete contracts to be more common (and for buyouts to be effective), schools must offer them. Schools usually don’t offer them, because they don’t want to be stuck with a player that doesn’t perform well. Want to be able to move on.
