Everyone needs to take a breath when it comes to the Aaron Rodgers “saga.” Yes, even calling it a saga feels like feeding into what’s largely been a media-created circus about whether Aaron Rodgers will play for the Pittsburgh Steelers this season. Here’s what we actually know: Pittsburgh placed a right-of-first-refusal tender on Rodgers, reportedly with his approval. That move alone set off another wave of speculation. The tender would pay Rodgers around $15 million, a 10 percent raise from last season. Adam Schefter originally reported that money isn’t the deciding factor. Meanwhile, other “reports” suggest the tag could annoy Rodgers or that money is an issue… but those claims are opinions rather than actual sourced information. And through it all, the Steelers have stayed in regular contact with Rodgers. That doesn’t exactly scream uncertainty. No deal yet, but there’s also zero sign that either side is worried or that this is going sideways. Sometimes, the noise is just noise.

This is a colossal failure on the part of the Biden admin (and antitrust hawks generally). The government stopped Spirit from merging with JetBlue over concerns about ticket prices. So instead the low-price company will just shut down instead. A total faceplant.

@Tj_Steelman @TheStandard412 Jones never did anything but play for the team that drafted him. Doesn't matter if he was elite. The franchise should have more responsibility for its players than to just use them up and throw them away. He wouldn't have the neck/back injury had he not played.

Some of yinz need to get off your high horse about Aaron Rodgers. Here’s a big fact: Rodgers just put up the best statistical season by a Steelers QB since Ben Roethlisberger last took the field. In some categories, he was even better. Were either of them in their prime at that point? Of course not. But both were still head and shoulders above every passer who came through in between.
