Three hours in the car every day. The cost of petrol hurting the weekly budget. Less time with family. This is a story a Victorian parent told us through our work from home survey. And it's why we're protecting your right to work from home two days a week in law from September 1.

@JuiceCrunch @reddit_lies You live in Detroit, I highly doubt you could even afford a console or PC to play it on unless you stole it and at that point you're not really doing anything for the sales numbers.

BREAKING: Chinas 55% tariff on Australian beef kicked in today. They’ve also cut off all fuel to Australia. Funny how it doesn’t go both ways and Australia is still selling itself short.

@cronicjon @Matt_Camenzuli I never once mentioned growing tobacco you illiterate nonce. Personal use is no issue. I’m talking about importing black market cigarettes which has created a multi billion dollar criminal enterprise harming everyday Australians. Murders. Shootings. Firebombings etc

Cigarettes need to get back to 25 dollars a packet to compete. The excise needs to be cut far more. They also have to stop the plain packaging garbage. The imports taste better. People will always smoke, it's not the governments job.

Anthony Albanese is being urged to slash tobacco excise by half amid warnings it has created the world's "worst" illicit tobacco market and ripped $11 billion from the federal budget. skynews.com.au/australia-news…

@Matt_Camenzuli @goochhulk The fact you came in at $25 as your first call is a really big issue. You’re so out of touch that it’s laughably cringe. Swooping in on a massive fundamental issue with a ridiculous “solution” that just makes you look unqualified to comment further…

@cronicjon Not for growing, no. For importing illegal cigarettes and circumventing taxation. Growing for personal use should be fine. Extend this to marijuana as well.

Our new laws to crack down on petrol price gouging have just passed Parliament. We're doubling penalties for companies doing the wrong thing. Because there's no excuse for increasing profits at the expense of Australians.

HBO is spending $100 million per episode to reboot Harry Potter. That’s more per episode than the average Harry Potter film cost to produce. Seven seasons. 56 episodes. A potential $5.6 billion total production budget. Paapa Essiedu signed a 10-year contract for this role. He’ll be 45 when it’s finished. He’s receiving death threats on Instagram. People telling him to quit or they’ll kill him. His response: “The abuse fuels me.” Here’s what the people sending those messages don’t understand about how this actually works. The original eight Harry Potter films grossed $7.7 billion at the box office on a combined $1.2 billion production budget. That’s a 6.4x return before merchandising, theme parks, and streaming revenue. Warner Bros. is spending $100M per episode because the Wizarding World generates roughly $2 billion per year across all revenue streams, and they need a new content engine to keep that machine running for the next decade. Essiedu was one of the first actors attached to this project. Emmy and BAFTA nominee from I May Destroy You. Jason Isaacs, who played Lucius Malfoy across all eight films, called the backlash what it is: racism. The casting controversy has generated more press coverage for this show than any marketing campaign could buy. Every article about the death threats includes the trailer link. Every outrage tweet puts the show back in people’s timelines. 13M views on this single tweet are proof. Warner Bros. has run this playbook before. The internet raged when Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker. When Daniel Craig was cast as Bond. When Michael Keaton was cast as Batman. Each of those performances became the definitive version of the character. Essiedu grew up reading these books at a local library because his mom couldn’t afford a babysitter. Now he’s anchoring the most expensive TV series ever produced. The people threatening him over Instagram DMs are going to watch the show anyway. That’s the part they’ll never admit.

@goochhulk @AshPolitik Ok so you admit Mossad was on the ground, who’s to say it wasn’t Mossad who killed 3,000 Iranians. They were armed and trying to topple a government. Regardless of if you don’t like them it’s their government.
