Where do we start? -Geopolitics and foreign affairs is handled by dinguses with more ego than brains and foresight. -Society is experiencing a cultural shock due to finally being connected to global communications, as a result of a butterfly effect since the invention of the telephone and then the internet. Should hopefully resolve itself in 20-40 more years. -Climate change has spawned some of the worst widespread disasters in thousands of years. -We've reached a tech level where we can interact with quantum mechanics and do weird things like squeezing light and prove retrocausality, and that somehow we as humans can also engage with it due to quantum consciousness being a possible thing. -We've got people that have been trapped at the space station for several months but it turns out to be much more valuable for science to leave them up there until the next regularly scheduled flight to study the effects of space on the layman. -Dinguses with more money than brains have somehow become rock stars and can influence global policies, from oil dynasties to AI techbros. -Aliens/non-human intelligences are real, and apparently, we've been interacting with them for a while in both hostile and diplomatic ways. An F-22 took down a UFO a year ago and several governments around the world have held UAP-related hearings. -We've been decoding whale language with the help of AI and can now apparently hold conversations with them. Turns out they really like fish. We've also proven that them, along with Elephants, cephalopods, corvids, parrots, and other animals are intelligent, self-aware, sapient, and have emotions. -We've managed to fully contain, cure, or eradicate about 100 different dealdly infectious diseases, parasites, and even cancers in the past decade and only seem to be speeding up as time goes on. -We've managed to figure out a form of "psionics" with neural interfaces and made breakthrough advancements in prosthetics, enhanced cognition, AI, cognitive neuroscience, and weapons systems.
