On my way to the ground in Delhi and my heart sank when I saw people feeding a whole army of pigeons. Doctors have been shouting from the rooftops about the dangers of inhaling pigeon droppings and the severe lung disease it could lead to. Please, let us stop feeding pigeons.

And how many actually get reported? This is the truth behind the seemingly small number of law and order cases in india. What we see is the tip of the iceberg

Please don't drink your urine (or others) because a Bollywood actor says so. There is no scientific evidence to support the idea that drinking urine provides any health benefits. In fact, consuming urine can be harmful, potentially introducing bacteria, toxins, and other harmful substances into the bloodstream. Your kidneys work very hard to remove toxic stuff out of your body through urine. Don't insult it by putting it back in. Urine is NOT sterile. Urine is a potent combination of salts and chemicals that your body is attempting to remove. These chemicals can cause significant health problems if you consume them. Paresh Rawal is the perfect example of the Indian WhatsApp Boomer Uncle. He's saying this to stay alive in the media.

I drank my first urine of the day like beer for 30 days, and I was cured of my disease. - Ex BJP MP Paresh Rawal I think india will take a lot of time to achieve 5 trillion dollar economy due to people like @SirPareshRawal .

The day Rahul Gandhi becomes Prime Minister, the first three decisions I would want him to take are: 1. A ban on gutka and pan masala. 2. A complete ban on all betting apps. 3. Launching a serious cleanliness drive to clean up India. Tell me yours👇

@championswimmer I remember in 2005 when in Atlanta, one of the team members who was a software engineer was actually 45+ with ~10 years experience. And he could have easily been an architect. He didn't want to be anything else because he just loved coding.

3. If you do not truly love your craft, one typical escape mechanism is to grow into a manager. (It is not like that solves anything, only makes things worse, for others as well, but this tendency exists). Far more people here tend to stick to IC paths as they love it!

2. Also because, even though tech pays really well, but not really 10-20x of other things, people do not necessarily need to cling on to the job for dear life, unquestioningly. So they question 'why' for the asks a lot more - in turn gathering far more product/business context

Paid Rs 2300 consultation fees at @HospitalsApollo Sarita Vihar for consultation with Senior Doctor. Assistant came and discussed the case for 10-15 mins. Senior Doctor came later. Discussed things with his Assistant. Meanwhile his Assistant suggested what to do or what no.....where is the expertise/suggestions/experience of Senior Doctor?? What kind of behavior is this @HospitalsApollo ?? Who will inform us that consultation fee is charged for consultation with Assistant and not the Senior Doctor. We took prior appointment for consultation with Senior Doctor. Absolutely disgusting.

Even though I applaud this gesture from the good doctor, I have reservations. Indian doctors have "normalized" seeing "large" numbers of patients as a benchmark in good clinical practice when it is not. Seeing large numbers of patients, in this instance, 140 in a day is unhealthy practice, maybe not for the doctor, but definitely for the patients. I would rather see a few tens of patients and be deeply part of their journey - rather than follow a hectic automated "treatment only" plan designs which follows science, but does not encompass humanism. This is the reason why compassionate care is severely lacking among Indian doctors. They may be treated well, no doubt, but how many doctors have touched upon the humane side of clinical medicine with this sort of crazy practice? Clinical medicine in this true art form is dying or already dead because of this absurd normalisation of seeing many patients as a benchmark of good practice. A new generation of doctors must learn to balance the art of clinical medicine with science so that both doctors and patients enjoy well- being. Both physical and mental. Break dogmas. Question traditions. Change for the better.

The amount of cancer patients seen by me in opd today at government hospital in Mumbai India 🇮🇳. 140 pts . I am doing this for free of cost ,( I don't take any honorarium for this ) , twice a week , for last 11 years (since March 2013 ) All get free cancer treatment With first line and second line chemotherapy . Some do get targeted drugs like trastuzumab and bevacizumab for free. This is positive impact of government schemes Iike Ayushman Bharat and MPAJY @PMOIndia @Dev_Fadnavis All these are very poor patients . We can not give state of the art care but With what ever we can give , some of them do get cured and lot of them have good disease control. This is my small contribution to the society from which I come and became medical oncologist. I am sure lots of oncologist are doing much more impacful work than this. And I appreciate and admire all of them . If all of us decide to give something back to society, in which ever manner , small or big , probably we can make a difference 🙂. Let's continue to inspire and get inspired.

Exit Polls, especially if they predict BJP on the lower side, unleash flights of fancy, among the usual suspects. The most entertaining and amusing of these was the orgy Yogendra ‘Salim’ Yadav, sounding all sanctimonious, and Rajdeep Sardesai, of the bus footboard fame, had on India Today, last night. This is the kind of conversation Urban Naxals have in their living rooms, where they dream of revolutions, which never go beyond University campuses. While Salim, more like a chaperone, is a professional dissenter and seeks relevance in the company of discredited opposition leaders, like Mamata Banerjee and Rahul Gandhi, it is Sardesai, who, even after 23 years hasn’t learnt his lessons. In a democracy, ebb and flow are par for the course. From Himachal to Karnataka, where the BJP lost, the vote was against the incumbent and not for the Congress. Even then, the celebrations were outsized, obituaries premature. Today, both the Govts are tottering and bankrupt. Karnataka Chief Minister is neck deep in corruption, embroiled in several land grab cases. The Congress, after one term, couldn’t retain either Chattisgarh or Rajasthan. Notwithstanding the result on 8th Oct, the new reality of Indian politics is that the BJP is the party to beat. Post 2014, the Overton window has shifted, decisively. To the naysayers, don’t celebrate too soon. To the faithful, don’t lose hope, there is much to build on.

I know it’s a frustration which made him to react like that so 4 days in jail. For his helplessness of losing his earning with that duty shouldn’t be as costly as 30,000 legal cost. Any lawyer who wants to help R Muthuraj for bail?I will donate from my side ₹1000 & others too.

This was much needed and we all knew this even though rabid anti-reservationists claimed otherwise. More than 80% faculties in IIT Bhubaneswar are from general category. And we can assume same for most IITs.

@theliverdoc 😲😲The cut portion of the liver will grow to an adult size of around 1.4kg within 4 to 6 weeks. That is how powerful this organ is, when it's healthy. 😲😲

After my previous post on Instagram on how a liver looked like after it was insulted with alcohol, it was kind of strange to see many people justifying their alcohol consumption with the statement that they only have some beers and never the "hard stuff." I'm not sure why people think beer or wine is a safer form of alcohol. They are all ethanol containing drinks. Ethanol is what harms the body including the liver and it is present in your beer and wine too. Here is the liver of a middle aged man with alcohol-related cirrhosis (left) who consumed only beers and never the hard stuff. He used to consume around 5 to 8 beers, approx 350ml each almost every week for some years. An additional risk was that he was overweight. On the right side is a healthy liver, from a donor, a part of which was taken to give the patient with cirrhosis a new lease of life. The cut portion of the liver will grow to an adult size of around 1.4kg within 4 to 6 weeks. That is how powerful this organ is, when it's healthy. Try to keep it that way, yes?

I've huge respect for Annamalai. BJP has been ruling some states for decades. Please tell one state which BJP has developed like Singapore. Forget Singapore, please show one state which BJP has developed like Tamil Nadu. One decade of Congress rule under Kamarajar and close to 6 decades of dravidian parties rule has made Tamil Nadu what it is today. Please start working for Tamil Nadu by getting allocation for Chennai Metro, getting the withheld amount of Rs.573 crores school fund and so on.
APR@amarprasadreddy

The Dravida Parties are harmful to Tamil Nadu. Only the BJP has the capability to elevate Tamil Nadu to international standards. Just as Lee Kuan Yew developed Singapore, Tamil Nadu needs a visionary leader, and I believe Thalaivar @annamalai_k has the vision for Tamil Nadu.
