Two economists just published a mathematical proof that AI will destroy the economy. Not might. Not could. Will — if nothing changes. The paper is called "The AI Layoff Trap." Published March 2, 2026. Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Boston University. Peer reviewed. Mathematically modeled. The conclusion is one sentence. "At the limit, firms automate their way to boundless productivity and zero demand." An economy that produces everything. And sells it to nobody. Here is how you get there. A company fires 500 workers and replaces them with AI. A competitor fires 700 to keep up. Another fires 1,000. Every company is behaving rationally. Every company is following the incentives correctly. And every company is building a trap for itself. Because the workers who were fired were also customers. When they lose their jobs faster than the economy can absorb them, they stop spending. Consumer demand falls. Companies respond by cutting costs — which means automating more workers — which means less spending — which means more falling demand — which means more automation. The loop has no natural exit. The researchers tested every proposed solution. Universal basic income. Capital income taxes. Worker equity participation. Upskilling programs. Corporate coordination agreements. Every single one failed in the model. The only intervention that worked: a Pigouvian automation tax — a per-task levy charged every time a company replaces a human with AI, forcing them to price in the demand they are destroying before they pull the trigger. No government has implemented this. No major economy is seriously discussing it. Meanwhile the numbers are already tracking the curve. 100,000 tech workers laid off in 2025. 92,000 more in the first months of 2026. Jack Dorsey fired half of Block's workforce and said publicly: "Within the next year, the majority of companies will reach the same conclusion." Nobody is doing anything wrong. Companies are following their incentives perfectly. That is exactly the problem. Rational behavior. At scale. Simultaneously. With no mechanism to stop it. Two economists built the math. The math leads to one place. Source: Falk & Tsoukalas · Wharton School + Boston University · arxiv.org/pdf/2603.20617

@OmarBaddar @Fat_Mac34 Nope. Dead wrong. Retarded. Or perhaps intentionally misleading. This is a disinformation post to further your political agenda. Patently false. This was never claimed to be a Bible verse. It was read to honor those who quoted it.

@TechOperator This saves me from watching the traffic, but why do I really REALLY need it? It's a luxury upgrade sure and for anyone working with delivering I see the point, but as a car owner, why pay $100's of dollars for this? An AI subscription costs $20 which I think is a fair price.

"There is no moat." Many people think other auto manufacturers are nipping at Tesla’s heels when it comes to FSD. So, a challenge: Come on down to Dallas and have your vehicle, from any manufacturer, make the 30-minute commute from my home to my former workplace as FSD does. I’ll wait.

I think this is the most insane thing the CIA has ever made public. 😨 They have a secret AI tool called Ghost Murmur. It detects your heartbeat from 40 miles away using AI. Not your phone. Not a tracker. Not a radio signal. Your heartbeat. It uses sensors built from synthetic diamonds to lock onto the electromagnetic fingerprint your heart produces every single beat, then pairs it with AI to filter that one signal from 1,000 square miles of noise. Last week, a wounded American pilot was hiding in a mountain crevice in Iran. No phone. No tracker. No way to call for help. America found him anyway. From the sky. By listening to his chest. But nobody mentioned the most important detail. This was Ghost Murmur's first operational use. It's been sitting classified for years. Tested. Ready. Waiting. They didn't reveal it to impress you. They revealed it because the rescue was already public. Every technology a government admits to is the one they've already moved past. Your heart has been broadcasting your location your entire life. Someone just built the receiver.

There are so many misconceptions about Tesla FSD, it can get out of hand sometimes. In reality, FSD is one of the most transformative technologies out there. With a single press of a button, it can drive you from point A to point B smoother than a human, all while being 9x safer. For some people, driving can be challenging due to anxiety or other issues. FSD cures that. It gives freedom back to people of all ages, most importantly the elderly. Autonomy is here, and it’s only getting better. When you buy a Tesla, you are buying a Personal Robotaxi. You won’t be able to live without it once you experience it on a daily basis.

@sspencer_smb @wholemars $9 dollar and I would pay. Anymore than that it I can just drive myself? Don't see the big deal. You don't have to turn the wheel and watch traffic for $200? Sounds like a bad deal.

@wholemars $100/mo was a big move for them. If they go unsupervised soon they can offer some lower priced tiers... Eventually I would think unsupervised goes to $200+ per month

Tesla needs to continue to evolve their Self-Driving pricing model to increase adoption. With a product this good, sales should be going vertical. It's time to ask some hard questions about what's not working. What do you all think?

@kylaschwaberow You think FSD will be a moat for very long? How do you stop someone from just mounting cameras on some Teslas and train their own models? I'd rank superchargers higher and cybercab second if it's launched in enough places. Prolly wouldn't pay more than $9 for FSD for my MY tho.

Chad Moron: Tesla has no moat. Common sense dude: Tesla owns the cars, gigafactories & FSD. Vertical integration = huge edge. Chad Moron: What specific advantage does that give them? Common sense dude: Holy fuck you’re retarded. Chad Moron: 😫😭😭😤🤡💩

The biggest problem is too many people believe this is a battle between Israel and Gaza or between Jews and Muslims. It’s not. This is an all-out war between Western civilization and a 1400-year old ideology that wants to rule the world. They just tell you it’s about Jews to get you on their side. The more gullible sheep like you they have, the easier it will be for them to conquer you. Stop making it so easy for them.

I just signed the papers on a Tesla and am waiting for it to arrive. The biggest appeal was the self-driving feature. Second was never having to go to the gas station again (convenience more than cost.) I decided to do a 3 year lease instead of buy as I suspect the car will be outdated soon given the speed with which the technology is advancing.
theficouple@theficouple

When you bought the $50,000 Tesla Model Y to save on gas & maintenance. Then you learned: - It loses 20-35% of its value by year 3 - It loses 55-58% of its value by year 5 So by year 5 you lost $35,000+ of value? ....Congrats on saving ~$1,000/yr on gas.
