They definitely are adding the sulfur slime cube thing purely because they saw how people were 'Abusing' the Armadillo for minigames as a ball slapping it around. this is 100% just entirely an impulse replacement to get people to stop by adding a fictional mob that can serve the same purpose

Honestly, one thing i do hate about scifi fandoms is how many people hyper focus on the 'science' part and seemingly ignore the 'ficition' half of science fiction. I dont know how many times i woll ve trying to come up with cool scifi concepts only for someone to come along and ruin it with endless "but how does it work" style questions tearing down anything remotely fictional in concept

@NovaWostra by what I have seen it likely has some potential for use with redstone someone will quickly figure out a good way to use it with pressure plates, or tripwires or something to use in Redstone builds

@KakarottaLeah honestly, last time I read it was like 20+ years ago when I was about 9 years old, I remembered the general vibe of how it went and what it was about, but a LOT of the details I misremembered worse and worse over the years

I remember years ago before all this shit when I found a Fallout new vegas mod that was supposed to 'improve' the appearances of certain NPC's which were supposed to be injured amongst other things. but as I read through the list of changes the mod made, like a good 70%+ of them were just "changed X NPC so their appearance matched their voice" and every time it was just raceswapping the NPC to being black because the voice actor was black, my reaction then was "this is the stupidest thing ever, characters don't need to match their voice actors" and it should have been a warning of things to come

they 100% did it because people were 'abusing' the Armadillos in minecraft for minigames like that. remember, this is the same company that refuses to add hostile mobs of real animals because they are worried "people might hurt actual ones" and as a result do things like change their whole plans around certain mobs because they learnt their plans were dangerous to the animal (making cookies kill parrots, not adding fireflies as a mob for frogs to eat because they are poison to them)

I love the sulfur cube, I really do... ...but my friends and I have recently been building a minigame working around all the quirks of the armadillo, and it is now obsolete...

honestly, I am glad that they havn't yet used it as an excuse to get the symbiotes into the MCU since I REALLY want to see them actually pull off a comic accurate origin for Venom of just being a 'normal suit' that peter gets in secret wars and later becomes venom instead of the BS "came from a meteor and near instantly became venom" shit that most people these days believe is its actual origin

its hilarious to me as well, because when I learnt what it really was my first thought was "thats just my normal ass everyday diet for the last 10+ years" like, I always have woken up and had a pretty decent breakfast, than nothing at all all day until late afternoon when I have dinner. everything I have learn about muslims just makes me take the whole community less and less seriously

too many settings these days speedrun to what I call their 'incestuous' phase that is when a setting stops pulling inspiration/themes from outside sources and just continuously start pulling from themselves. and as they pull more and more from themselves, they rapidly start losing themes and even whole concepts that the writers/fans decide "isn't the setting" its always inevitable, and best you can hope is that it doesn't get too inbred when it starts fucking itself

@Kerrcarr01 honestly, even if it were Rex, I wouldn't be mad. its actually kinda fitting that a soldier like him who spent their whole lives fighting wars/battles would die what is basically as essentially a nameless soldiers death.

a Lot of Bethesda's previous games came out at opportunistic times for them. Oblivion came out in peak Lord of the rings movie popularity and leaned hard on that type of atmophere/theme at the time Fallout 3 came out post-apocolyptic scenarios and things were pretty popular in general that helped carry it (though usually in the form of stuff like zombie/mutant/monster themed stuff) Skyrim came out when Viking Mythology was having its time in the spotlight and it had a heavy Viking-like atmosphere but Starfield didn't really have anything like that going on, since scifi stuff in general has been on a massive downwards spiral thanks to all the historically big Scifi IP's being run into the ground when starfield came out

My hot take is that classes should completely change how you/the player has to approach the game mechanically. Like a bard, sorceror and wizard should not just all be different flavors of "i cast x spell" and should have completely different ways they function in and out of combat. And none of that 'technically different' BS like DnD currently has where where visually different, but just acheive the same results with the same methods

@SandyofCthulhu violence should never be solution, but it should always be an option. some people just will not learn to stop doing shit to others unless they get a good slap in the face or worse, especially if its a bully.

anyone else sick and tired of seeing all these indie game "announcements" being shown off constantly by various twitter shit that never actually have anything come from them. its always fucking "here is a neato concept someone is working on" and then you never hear of it again. and the worst part is, they are just getting more and more 'wholesome chungus vibes' where this one just looks like the type of shit you would see an AI slop grifter post while they yell "X is over, AI too good"

personally, I absolutely hate how much TTRPG communities online in general have been Dominated by content creators giveing 'advice' that only really works if your either trying to make content out of it or are a theatre kid. Just since, as a DM I don't do any Real Theatrics at all in my games/group, almost never act giving NPC's dialogue beyond me saying "he says X thing", I always keep the stakes relatively low never do big 'save the kingdom/world' style campaigns and put heavy focus on the player characters just being normal average people instead of potentially becoming the 'most important historical figures in recent times' and in many, MANY cases, following the ""advice"" from Content Creator DM's like Mercer would absolutely kill my games because of it

Matt Mercer is good at running a show. This advice is actually not bad if your goal is to run a show. I am quite glad that common RPG wisdom has been moving away from show advice and towards game advice

DM advice that so thoroughly ruined an entire generation of D&D that the company is slowly discontinuing their own product. It's taken years for new gamers to shake off their stupor, and they might not fully recover. #dnd

@sizzle_sarah I have always interpretated the american 2nd amenment as being less about gun ownership and more about being a right to rebel Just since english language has changed drasticly over the last 200 years, even the way words are used changes their meaning

Let’s get one thing clear. The Second Amendment does not grant us the right to bear arms. The Second Amendment denies the government the authority to infringe upon our right to bear arms.

Mat mercer suffers fron 'content creator DM' brain Where he has to do stuff like that because their sessions need to be emtertaining for viewers who are not participating amd thus need to be heavilly scripted on his end Like my personal beleif is that the best way a DM can handle the group is not treating the PCs like they are some heroic group on an adventure to save the world, but instead a group of normal people doing a job. Though that said, i moved away from D&D and towards other less 'heroism' focused game systems a while ago

@Maximil86429959 From what i have seen online, there are a LOT of dumbasses that just lump the Irish as being just a part of the brittish. And as a result those people attribute the brittishs past 'crimes' as also being ones the irish need to pay for as well Its stupid as shit, but idiots be dumb

Can anybody please explain to me like I'm an 8-year-old what the Irish people have done to deserve the very real potential of becoming a minority in their only rightful homeland?🇮🇪 The Irish never had an empire. The Irish went through hell for centuries - so WTF is going on?👇👇

@VoidmawGames Its likely that one of two things happen Either they use the game as a resume of 'experience' to get jobs at larger gamedev companies Or the most likely thing of most people just dont have the drive or dedication to out the effort into continuing gamedev after that first project

Fun fact: 75% of indies on Steam only release one game. Which is interesting... because once you ship your first game, youve already done the hardest part. The pipelines exist, connections are made, lessons are learned. A second project in theory, should be easier to produce.

honestly, I think its better, too many people and Writers are Extremely quick to kill off characters, especially antagonists, for a false sense of "depth" or progression, then if the character becomes a favourite loved, then they have to do a LOT more work to bring the character back, if they can at all. like, character deaths can work, but it shouldn't be something to rely on
