@LVSChris @ceaubin My, what an awfully convenient framing device. As if no one has ever said that, done a gesture, and still never managed to make it look like that. Hm...

@DoctorPerin Considered, sure. Is it worth anything? No. The one catch of resiliency. Strength to withstand difficulties does not automatically equal strength to address and forge past difficulties. Is it strength then...?

@rovingchloe @DoctorPerin I'm not sure that it could be called subjective. When given the reality the reality of nerve signals (in the example). The way you put it, wouldn't everything be subjective? Even color blindness?

There is a subjectivity to trauma. If you never developed the emotional capacity to cope with the pain of stubbing your toe, then stubbing your toe will be an emotionally traumatic experience

@LindaBerman4 Oh dear. That hasn't been my experience. Not for a lack of nurturing (I thibk?) and empathy, but that learning environment is held back by the time limit (among other things).

At its most basic level, psychotherapy is an interpersonal learning environment similar in manyways to proper parenting. In both,we tend to learn best when supported by anurturing relationship with an empathic other, while being encouraged to confront life’schallenges. L.Cozolino

@drseanmullen Yup. I've been experiencing it. It's crazy how it impacts you and it's super frustrating. Sucks I can't do anything about exposure.

COVID brain damage is real, and I’m officially out of patience. Yesterday, I saw a man with an N95 around his neck (good start!) walking toward the parking garage at work. I tried to catch up to say, "Hey, good on you for masking!" but then he started coughing. I backed up, put my respirator back on, and let him go about his business. He went to the same floor as me, looked around confused, turned to me, and shook his head. I knew exactly what that meant: wrong floor, wrong car. Fast-rewind to the other day at a tennis facility: my wife and I watched a man try to open three red Teslas before finally finding his own. If you don’t think COVID causes brain damage that will impact your life, I’m officially fresh out of f***s to give. Mask up, ventilate your spaces, and protect your brain. It’s no joke.

CNN Plots to Bury the Anchor Trump Hates Most thedailybeast.com/cnn-plots-to-b… via @thedailybeast #DemVoice1 #ProudBlue #DemsUnited CNN continues their quest to become Fox Lite by moving Jim Acosta to midnight. Moving Acosta to the worse live slot on CNN is seen as a capitulation to The Felon Trump who has had a long and bitter dislike of Acosta. Jim Acosta is one of the last CNN hosts that will tell the truth about Trump. Since the election CNN has lost over 49% of its viewers and now that they are becoming a pro-Trump network that loss of viewers will continue unabated. We are witnessing the death of big media in real time. Less than half the people who voted in November voted for Trump. But CNN acts like MAGA is the only audience that matters. There is a reason people are leaving cable news like CNN by the millions

@WonderKing82 It'd be interesting if people had to vote for political platforms instead of political parties in elections. Options just listing what that option intends to do. Then see what people vote for.

Poor people have absolutely no business voting for Republicans. There's not one legislation in the last 50 years that they have created that will benefit the poor, working poor, lower class, shit even the middle class. A lot of problems we face are because of this demographic.

Musk: #Starship experienced a “rapid unscheduled disassembly”. Or, in real world language, it exploded suddenly in a gigantic ball of fire and hot gas, with no reason, into 1000s of fragments. Musk calls this “a success”.

@DoctorPerin There's an 'objective' element too, no? If you had a medical condition where the foot's skin is underdeveloped and the nerves are more exposed, your stubbed toe will be a different pain experience than another's stubbed toe.
