#OnThisDay in 2010, a new F1 season began in Bahrain. On the grid were 3 new teams - Team Lotus, Virgin Racing and last but certainly not least, Hispania Racing Team (HRT)! Only the two Lotuses finished the Grand Prix, with Heikki Kovalainen 15th and Jarno Trulli 17th.

I’m sad to hear of the passing of Slim Borgudd, 76, one-time jazz drummer, mate of Björn Ulvæus, & therefore sponsored by #Abba during his brief #F1 career (pic: ’81 ATS HGS1). He was more successful in truck racing than he was in single-seaters. #RIPSlimBorgudd

GPR would like to wish a very happy birthday to Giovanni Lavaggi or as he is somewhat affectionately known by #F1 fans, "Johnny Carwash"! The Italian driver made 10 entries, starting in 7 of them for Pacific and Minardi from 1995-96. His best finish was 10th at Hungary in 1996.

18 years ago today, the beginnings of NissanyMania as Paul Stoddart signed Chanoch Nissany as Minardi's test driver for 2005. GPR's all-time favourite tester, some say Formula 1 has never been the same since Nissany left the sport!
