Under the Smart Village Development Initiative, supported by @CapriGlobalCap government schools in Ajeetgarh and Churi villages of Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan are undergoing a visible transformation. The intervention has focused on strengthening school infrastructure through classroom renovation, improved toilet facilities, upgraded kitchens, and the transformation of main entry gates and school boundaries. To make learning more engaging and child-friendly, the schools have been beautified with picture paintings and BALA (Building as Learning Aid) artwork, creating vibrant spaces that inspire curiosity and creativity among children. The initiative has significantly improved hygiene, safety, and the overall learning environment, leading to increased student engagement, higher attendance, and a renewed sense of pride among students, teachers, and the community. Remember the scene from 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀? Chris Gardner spends a night in a crowded homeless shelter, then walks into a high-rise corporate building the next morning. He is smiling and working twice as hard as everyone else, all this while carrying the weight of a world no one else sees. By day, he is a man chasing dreams, by night, he is a homeless figure struggling to be seen. For years, these women have lived a similar story. They have been managing the 'invisible economy' running households, raising kids, and solving daily household problems with near-zero resources. They have always had the grit of a business owner, but are simply waiting for their 'Pursuit of Happyness' moment. In collaboration with @JKTyreCorporate, Manjari Foundation organized a 3 day Entrepreneurship Development Training for 40 women entrepreneurs under the Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) at Noorabad, Morena. So, for three days, these women didn’t just attend a training session. They sat in a room with a vision. Facilitated by Mr. Vinod, the training focused on strengthening entrepreneurial skills, business planning, and enterprise management to support sustainable livelihoods. At the end of the program, startup kits were distributed to the participants to help them move forward towards financial independence. We were glad to have the presence of: Shri. In continuation of our robust people-to-people learning exchange program, a 12-day field visit to Mali, West Africa, concluded on October 2, 2025. The delegation’s mission was to explore natural farming practices in Mali and evaluate how India’s expertise could enhance climate resilience, food security, and economic returns per hectare for Malian farmers. Hosted by Mr. Mohammed Soumare, National Coordinator of Agroecology, Projet d’Appui à l’Extension des Systèmes Organiques Locaux (PAESOL), under the Department of National Agriculture (DNA), Government of Mali, and in partnership with Centre d’Appui à la Microfinance et au Développement (CAMIDE), the delegation visited demonstration plots in Gaima (Commune Liberté Dembaya), Marintoro, and Mussawagiya (Commune Logo, Kayes). These sites showcased natural farming techniques implemented under the PAESOL initiative. Engaging discussions with regional coordinators and the National Director of DNA highlighted challenges, including food insecurity and excessive chemical use in agriculture. The Malian team expressed keen interest in scaling natural farming to address these issues, seeking guidance from the Indian delegation. The delegation also visited the Institut Polytechnique Rural de Formation et de Recherche Appliquée (IPR/IFRA) in Katibougou, Koulikoro, a pivotal institution training approximately 4,000 students from 11 West African countries in agricultural extension, research, agronomy, and related fields. Meetings with the institute’s director and scientists underscored its regional significance. A productive interaction with His Excellency Mr. Nand Kumar, Indian Ambassador to Mali, highlighted India’s developmental support for Mali. He commended the people-to-people initiative and pledged ongoing assistance and guidance. The visit culminated in a three-day practical workshop on natural farming, featuring hands-on training in preparing Jeevamrit, Beejamrit, and Neem Astra using locally available inputs. Participants included women farmers, technical experts, community resource persons, national and regional coordinators, project leads, and professors from across Mali, fostering inclusive knowledge exchange. Our team from Sitarganj recently organized a 1-day exposure visit to the 17th Agriculture Science Congress 2025 at G.B. Pant Agricultural University, Pantnagar! 50 farmers from Scheduled Tribes (45 women and 5 men) received training on goat farming and input support from CIRG's Director and Dr. Dixit, highlighting goats' potential to enhance income for marginalized communities! The farmers also had the opportunity to hear from @pushkardhami (Chief Minister, Uttarakhand) who emphasized the importance of chemical-free farming and water conservation, particularly through banning summer rice cultivation! Awards were presented to farmer Suresh Rana, Balvinder Singh, and Ramkoshik for their innovative farming practices.
