I just held phone calls with various leaders of the Dutch Jewish community following the horrific antisemitic attacks on a synagogue in Rotterdam and a Jewish school in Amsterdam over the weekend. It is totally unacceptable that the historic Jewish community of the Netherlands, devastated during the Holocaust and today a thriving center of Jewish life, continues to face violent antisemitism. I call on the Dutch authorities to intensify efforts to combat antisemitism, incitement, and terror against the Jewish community. From Jerusalem, I send a message of solidarity and strength to our sisters and brothers in the Netherlands. We stand together with you in the face of this despicable Jew-hatred.

Ze weten niet dat 20% van de Israëlische bevolking Arabisch is. Ze weten niet dat Gaza van 1948 tot 1967 onder Egyptische controle stond, en toch hebben de Palestijnen nooit het Egyptische staatsburgerschap gekregen. Ze weten niet dat iedere Israëliër in 2005 met geweld uit Gaza werd verwijderd. Ze weten niet dat Hamas nog steeds vijftig gijzelaars vasthoudt, waardoor elke kans op het beëindigen van de oorlog wordt geblokkeerd. Ze weten niet dat de leiders van Hamas miljardairs zijn die in Qatar in luxe leven, terwijl de inwoners van Gaza lijden. Het enige dat ze lijken te weten is hoe ze synagogen in brand moeten steken en Joden moeten slaan – duizenden kilometers verwijderd van Gaza.

The “Free Palestine” crowd in the West breathes Palestine, dresses Palestine, lives Palestine. But they don’t know where Gaza is on a map. They don’t know which river and sea border Israel. They don’t know that 20% of Israel’s population is Arab. They don’t know that Gaza was under Egyptian control from 1948 to 1967, and yet Palestinians were never granted Egyptian citizenship. They don’t know that every Israeli was forcibly removed from Gaza in 2005. They don’t know that Hamas is still holding 50 hostages, blocking any chance of ending the war. They don’t know that Hamas’s leaders are billionaires living in luxury in Qatar while Gazans suffer. The only thing they seem to know is how to burn synagogues and beat Jews — thousands of miles away from Gaza.
