Minister Plibersek plans to allow companies to transport carbon emissions for undersea ‘carbon capture and storage’ (‘CCS’).
We're concerned CCS is risky mining industry wishful thinking, designed to greenwash fossil fuels and prolong their operation.

@spenderallegra Need to also ensure that all new housing is appropriate to people's needs....small, sustainable and using a wider range of materials, like hempcrete, solar roof tiles. Yes we can afford this.

The PM must show he is serious about getting zoning reform from the states so we can start to find out way out of this housing nightmare. Any federal payments to the states must be contingent on them actually delivering reform and more housing.

@No_More_China @Mon4Kooyong Don't buy Chinese products then.

@Mon4Kooyong And once again you fail to mention China, the worlds biggest polluter by far, who we enable via cheap Made In China imports that fill our department and hardware stores, or even Singapore, who still sources 95% of their electricity from fossil fuels, so locals enjoy cheap power.

@wkissel @SophieScamps Sadly the building industry generally does not understand sustainable housing.
A few do. Wec must ensure that the less well off get the most sustainable and cheapest to run homes. Small homes to suit needs, not wants.
English

@SophieScamps There are proven solutions/technologies out there. One of it is to establish a new building industry that can deliver affordable, still high quality homes in high quantities. Happy to join the conversation.

If you read just 1 article this weekend - read this one!
