@ChristopherHale how sad of a grown man do you have to be to put down an enthusiastic, liturgical minded young Catholic woman who is excited about helping other young women grow in the faith and be intentional about integrating faith into daily life

Here’s a sponsored post from one its influencers about her capsule Lenten wardrobe: “Rend your hearts, not your garments” refers to the Old Testament spiritual practice of tearing apart your clothes as a sign of deep sorrow and anguish, the physical manifestation of the acknowledgment of human brokenness. Our Lord tells us throughout scripture on Ash Wednesday that He wishes for this acknowledgment, for this turning to Him, to be done in secret — in our hearts, not out in the world. With so much going on internally, then, I’ve felt there is very little time to curate cute outfits on the daily, spend an hour at the bathroom sink with my Dyson and rollers, get my nails done, or go shopping for something new. Naturally, I find my self outfit-repeating much more often than usual. I gravitate towards the most basic pieces in my wardrobe over and over — dark colors, simple shapes, and minimal patterns, if any. Here’s a glance at the Lenten “capsule wardrobe” I’ve unintentionally curated as the fun fits with spring colors and florals wait longer and longer to come out each year:

The Hallow app is paying “West Village girlie” influencers thousands of dollars per post this Lent to promote its Brothers Karamazov reading group. The Peter Thiel and JD Vance-backed company’s annual revenue was last reported to be around $60 million.

St.Bernard dogs are Catholic. And they were bred by monks! The big fluffy dog with the barrel around its neck was bred for holy rescue missions. These dogs were bred by the Augustinian Canons of the Great St. Bernard Hospice, a monastery located in the dangerous, snowy pass between Switzerland and Italy. The monks trained the dogs to find lost travelers buried in avalanches. The famous barrel (though perhaps legendary) was said to contain brandy to warm the victim. They saved over 2,000 lives.
