@simonrug Absolutely agree with the quality of oppo but England and Ireland both played decent opposition while the SRU marketed a zero opposition training match as a full blown test and sold tickets accordingly which is all, it seems, matters.

@grahamwa Worth noting their out-of-window Test was on a non-URC weekend so didn’t leave their two sides direly deleted for league games. It was also against USA which is a very different proposition to NZ, Aus, SA who have always been Wales’ out-of-window opponents.

Saturday’s game against SA may well be Wales’ last out-of-window Test. The window is being extended to four weeks for the biennial Nations Championship, there is a World Cup in 2027 and by 2029 we are set to be down to three pro clubs making it infeasible.
