Dr. Dubin is an excellent urologist & a good friend but I think it is a moral violation of the urologist conduct code to be sitting on the scrotum.

@khadijakamala That's not how it's working in practice in Canada. I'm absolutely supportive of healthcare change — I made this video in 2002 — but when the work load doubles or triples, something's gotta give.

@grahamwalker Single-payer would protect patients from exorbitant charges and level the playing field with other careers: set salary & you do the work given you. I don't get to charge extra for students who take up disproportionate amounts of my time, even on my nights & weekends.
English

This is awful! Doctors are getting as greedy as lawyers. I teach uni. Should I charge extra tuition every time a student emails me asking substantive questions???? I'm expected to give my brainpower 7 days a week for my job. This is exactly why we need single payer healthcare!!!!

@Boghuma @AneeshMehtaMD I'd say the only common one is infection — all the others are "uncommon." Other uncommon ones:
—Hyperthermia (malignant or environmental)
—Toxidromes (Serotonin syndrome, NMS, sympathomimetics, anticholingerics, benzo/ETOH withdrawal, ASA overdose)
—Thyroid storm
—Post-stroke

@MaxJordan_N Not sure I follow? You're saying bupe does not trigger opiate withdrawal?
English

“Not any amount of buprenorphine will trigger withdrawal. Let’s take it back to biochemistry. There are many factors at play. Receptor affinity, receptor occupancy & dose of medication, so starting low is safe.” - Me teaching abt buprenorphine during afternoon chalk talks. #PGY2
