@yuletide @kelsosCorner I think I fixed the version number issue... if you're still unable to run `-points` on a points layer to update the point coordinates, you'd better file a GitHub issue and we'll take it up there :)
English

@yuletide @kelsosCorner Thanks for mentioning this... npm just gave me 0.5.96 too. I'll look into why the latest version isn't getting published.
English

@yuletide @kelsosCorner You can do this in the current version: `-points x=lon2 y=lat2`
English

@wallacetim I guess you should be able to find-tune the selection by clicking on individual shapes... any other suggestions?
English

@grammata I sure did! You just gave many future hours back to me. Thank you, Matthew!
English

Holy moly, did @grammata quietly push some amazing things to Mapshaper?!
Looooook, you can clip things in the gui!

@FileGDB @williamscraigm I think the above reference comes from a page on the mapshaper wiki: github.com/mbloch/mapshap…

@mbostock @dangerdave Mapshaper can remove intersections caused by simplification, but it can't do anything about intersections caused by TopoJSON quantization.
English

@dangerdave topojson-simplify makes no attempt to avoid intersections. Maybe mapshaper does? I dunno. mapshaper.org
English

@sakrejda Hi, mapshaper developer here. If you have a Shapefile that mapshaper can't read, I'd like to figure out why! You could file a GitHub issue or contact me directly...

@leeb We keep coming back to your awesome design from 2008 nytimes.com/interactive/20…
English

@prokka Use the "combine-files" option: mapshaper a.json b.json combine-files -info
English

@gerald_arthur try running "-proj albersusa" on an unprojected US layer in mapshaper's console for a fun easter egg

@xenocryptsite still d3, for drawing to Canvas... and some of our own code.
English

@xenocryptsite You're right, our 2014 maps were all-SVG, made with d3. This year we're using Canvas for performance and some SVG.
English

@xenocryptsite We first used Canvas in 2010 for our election maps on iPad. Desktop users got Flash and smartphones got static images.
English

@vtcraghead You can use Mapshaper on the server, as a Node module: github.com/mbloch/mapshap…
English

@shawncarrie Should be fixed now... just had to rip out the old Google Maps component that stopped working recently.
English

@TheGraphicalWeb @theboysmithy Thanks for the encouragement :) I don't get out of NYC much, interested in learning about your conference.
