I am. Bit of advice tho…. go live where you want to move to for at least three months, preferably six, before you pull the trigger, just to make sure you know what you’re signing up for. And keep your Canadian citizenship but do go officially non-resident. Hate what Canada has become all you like, but recognize that that passport is one of the best in the world for future travel. Being pragmatic about that will help you much more than being spiteful will. I’ll be retiring to outside of Canada, where 14% year over year over year living wage increases can’t touch me.

It's been 5 years since Covid. A lot of Canadians have stopped asking how to fix the country and started asking how to leave it. How many are quietly working on an exit plan right now?

I was watching the inauguration of the new Quebec premier, and it's wild how much Quebec does its own thing and brazenly ignores everything Ottawa insists is important. Like, there was no land acknowledgment, they cut out all references to the monarchy, and nothing was bilingual.

Radio-Canada broke the story that the US wants something to begin negotiations... like an "entry fee." And you don't often hear CBC in agreement over issues that Pierre Poilievre was pointing out again just yesterday. Carney, master Trump negotiator, gave up bargaining chips and got nothing in return David Common "Does it suggest that perhaps some of the things that Canada has given up already, that we did so too early, things like the digital services tax, some of the counter tariffs that were pulled off, the return of alcohol to some store shelves." "There are things that have already been conceded indeed, and there has been no gain from Canada's part on those concessions." "The digital tax, the abandon of some counter tariffs were seen as way to move the discussions forward." "And yet there was nothing gained from Canada by giving up those things." Daniel Thibeault "Indeed!" @markjcarney @PierrePoilievre

I’ve come to the conclusion that if we are told something is good for you then it isn’t, that’s why after researching I will not take Statins. If GPs are paid to prescribe certain products then I steer well & truly clear. I question everything now. Has anybody else refused them?

What's an acceptable top income tax rate? What % do YOU think it's okay to make people pay? The top tax rate in B.C. (my rate) is 53.5% 🤯 And even worse, this rate kicks in at only $265,545 which is not very high. After that our govt takes more than half of every dollar.

disappointing to see that there is not a single founder, startup CEO, tech entrepreneur, VC, or innovation-economy builder on this committee this is an old-economy 🦕 list: > 12 legacy-industry executives or industry association leaders (aluminum, auto parts, steel, rail, pipelines, mining, agri, dairy, forestry, manufacturing, chamber) > 5 former politicians or current provincial premier > 2 labour leaders > 1 bank CEO > 1 Indigenous business association CEO > 1 cultural industry executive > 1 academic / US-politics specialist

New add to the RRSP today. $CAGE.to. New. Cheap. Global exposure. .28% MER. Will build some here and there. Normally a dividend investor, not ETFs. Do hold some $JEPQ for monthly income only, but like this one for growth. Hat tip to @MarkMcGrathCFP for the info on it.

@TheEXECUTlONER_ @gaye_gallops The job has to take into account the cost of materials and labour at a reasonable amount There are the contractors overheads obviously but if the contractor is charging an extortionate amount for a 30 minute job i would question it

This guy has an asphalt and sealcoating business that his dad started 23 years ago. He went to sealcoat this driveway and the customer told him that they weren’t paying because he did it too fast. He says just because he has perfected his craft doesn’t mean it’s cheaper work and doesn’t mean it’s cheaper in cost. Do you think this customer had a right not to pay them since they weren’t there very long? If you were the customer, are you paying for a result or for the time?

@TheEXECUTlONER_ @MAC_ARMY1 When I first started making knives it took about 10 hours to make a single knife. Now it takes me about 2 hours to make most models and they are better than my first efforts. Does that mean they should cost less because I got better?
