Liberals made so much fun of Alex jones for “they’re making the frogs gay” (which was basically correct btw) only to fall victim to the exact same level of mysticism surrounding datacenters

I genuinely DO care that Americans have affordable places to live and a clean environment (myself included) but stopping datacenters does less than nothing to achieve this aim

I would phrase this societal impasse more like “build the utilities needed to offer a modernized economy to our citizenry or get left behind”

People act like the choice we’re facing now is “ai datacenter vs low income housing for gay brown people” but ignore the fact that states who are making one thing illegal also functionally have made the other one illegal too

Lemme tell you what’s gonna happen Red states will keep adding power and building data centers Blue states will succumb to idiocy and turn off data centers (they mostly weren’t building them in the first place bc their grids don’t work bc of failed green transitions) Red states will keep bringing in investment and tax revenue Blue states will keep spending insane amounts on massive carefare programs (Medicaid based fake jobs programs) Blue states will default Red states will be forced to bail them out

After months of cold emailing and inmails suddenly everyone is getting back to me at once 😳 End-of-quarter is always insane, but it seems like orgs have lots of unspent budget on ai products + talent

@specialkdelslay My stance on ai consciousness is both that I don’t think they are and I also don’t care I think on a forward looking basis conscious machines are a real possibility we are not prepared for But total outlawing of AI in present state would be akin to economic suicide
