@NerbasBrosAngus Lack of breeding goals, terminal mindset, marketing, human psychology, the list is endless….

This group of 10 was not the “top of the pen”. Picked from the middle 1/3 or as we call it, the ❤️ of the pen. This is the sweet spot. Not sure why this concept is so hard to understand.

Deliveries start this week! These boys heading on a long trip West. Giving them some trailer training before the journey.

@grassncows Is this in conjunction with a delete or just a power upgrade for an older truck?

The bale deck will either be able to haul an extra bale or do it twice as fast after this. #ifyouaintwreckinyouaintranchin

@QuickDickMcDick If that includes crown corps like power and phone it looks a little different… you have a big advantage with Sk power and other utilities given population density.

YOWZA - no wonder they need PST every time an automobile over $5K changes hands...

In Saskatchewan, more than 28 per cent of people work for some level of government. In Manitoba, it's 26 per cent. In British Columbia, it's 21 per cent. And in Alberta, it's 18 per cent. That's unaffordable. You can't grow an economy off the backs of legions of bureaucrats.

The wind was stronger than the pins yesterday. It even blew the top bales off my windbreak stack. #breezy

Will calves get sick because of rain and wind or just because they lack sleep due to this stupid #timechange Asking for a friend…

@ArrogantDutch I bought a WTI June Call this week. I am not totally sure how you back out of a war that’s already started…
English

@grassncows If you don’t have some pre bought I’d say wait it out .
Americans don’t have appetite for a boots on the ground war can’t see this lasting . Bet orange man comes out in next week and declares victory ( regardless of what’s happening)
There is no shortage in western Canada
English

@TKRanch We have started to get around that by breeding every heifer. I have learned I am not as good a judge of beauty, character or biology as I would profess to be. Functionality is somewhat self developing...
English

@grassncows On an individual selection basis relative to our cosmetic preferences for-telling future value as a momma cow is not near as fail safe as we would like it to be or as we believe it to be. We all have had the odd ball that wasn’t to be bred and turned into a really good cow.

“Remember kids you can't make money in the #cattle business unless you start with over priced, over hyped super fancy front pasture kind”
The mantra that every sales manager and purebred seedstock producer recite as gospel.

@JerodMcDaniel Inflation would explode so the relative price might go down but the price would likely go up… #hedging

@garrett_wolf3 I have a scale on the loader so I grab barley from my barley pile and dump on the pellet pile. Turn it over a couple of times and then pull a bucket load.
English

@grassncows How are you blending the barley? Have thought about doing the same.
Feed is dirt cheap in this area this year and I have some silage bales that feed tested really well so using them to supplement rather than pellets this year.
English

@garrett_wolf3 We feed a 24% on pasture at 4-6 pounds per week. With straw we feed a 15% 73-75 TDN pellet at 10 pounds per day (roughly). I am blending in some barley to drop the cost.
