INJURED. My ski caught on a tree stump in Wildcat Bowl and didn't release. It turned me around into an awkward fall where my left calf was getting stretched way beyond its normal range of motion. Can't put weight on it. Think I have a torn calf. Will know more tomorrow.

It wasn’t exactly a packed house on High Boy today but I think that was for good reason. #altamagic

Tomorrow is the big day! My girlfriend and I have to listen to a 2-hour timeshare presentation for getting such a great deal to stay in Myrtle Beach this week. Has anyone sat through these things before? Pro tips? I know they are relentless and have a solution for every objection. What else do you have?

@Porkchop_EXP The definition of risk usually involves 1) probability of occurrence and 2) severity. In this case, low probability, but high severity. Ultimately, it’s up to us each to decide what is the acceptable level of risk.

Until you have a top rack like this, you never realize how much the baskets suck.

@UncleMaui1983 The awesome thing about skiing is that every day it becomes more and more enjoyable as you get better. The beginning is the hardest part. Keep it up!!!

@BlakeTOliver The replies to this post is fascinating. I’ve never seen and would haven’t expected such staunch support of the 8-6 cubicle grind just because “that’s how it used to be”.

JPMorgan just told all 300,000 employees they must return to office full-time in March. Their response to employees raising concerns about childcare and commuting costs? They shut down comments.

@ProfessorPowder Do you know why storms seem to align from southwest to northeast? It seems like all summer, the dark clouds that roll in have been aligned that way (like shown here).

Man I love, @BrightonResort. Got unlucky with the crowds when I went last year but did some night skiing again yesterday with the fam and it was completely wonderful. And holy smokes, @liftblog, you weren't kidding, that new D-line lift is amazing. So smooth and fast.

@sweatystartup I keep telling people the same thing. Sadly, they don’t believe me when I tell them that physics are more important than number of stars in a crash test rating.

PSA: A car accident is a matter of physics. You can’t control when another driver slams into you. You CAN control the weight of the vehicle your family is riding in and the height they sit above the pavement. Don’t be a fool, put your precious cargo in a full sized SUV.
Barrett O'Neill@barrettjoneill

Ignore this at your own risk. Do not put your family in a small car. Yesterday, my wife was driving my son to school and an oncoming delivery truck crossed the center lane and hit her head on — the driver had a seizure was going 40 mph. I was on my way to work in a separate car and got an emergency notification from Apple the car was in an accident and it had automatically called police (great feature Apple). I called my wife — no answer. I felt sheer dread and sick to my stomach. I immediately turned around and headed towards the location Apple sent. The police were blocking the entire street — not a good sign. I eventually got up there and found my wife and son who were okay, considering. My wife has a broken wrist and is shaken up but otherwise okay. The officer told me if she were driving a smaller car it would’ve been fatal — we bought this Wagoneer a month ago… I am so thankful they are okay (and the other driver is too) and that we chose to buy a large vehicle. Please do not put your loved ones into a small car. In an accident the size and weight make all the difference. Instead of the worst day of our lives, we’re celebrating my son’s 2nd birthday today with chocolate cake.
