Teri Garr was the best. If you haven't seen ONE FROM THE HEART -- I think it's still up on the Criterion Channel right now -- I heavily recommend it. She's sensational in it, with all of her great intelligence, humor, sensuality, & charm shimmering in the spotlight.

THE LOVE PARADE (1929). The first half of Ernst Lubitsch's first sound film is so insanely great that I thought I'd stumbled upon the secret greatest film of the 1920s. The picture loses quite a bit of steam -- as well as charm -- in the second half, but it's still a wonder.
