Rubio says that US-led peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine "were not fruitful." Not fruitful? Let’s look at the facts: your negotiators visited Russia seven times, and Ukraine zero times. You demanded concessions from Ukraine before negotiations even began, and throughout the entire process. You pressured Ukraine by cutting off weapons support entirely, constantly badmouthing us, and showing up at our doorstep waving Russian "peace plan" you demanded we sign immediately. And now, after Ukraine stands more firmly on its feet without your support, you realize you can't pressure us anymore. So your excuse is that you are tired and leaving? How about, for once, you actually support the victim, which is Ukraine instead of terrorist Russian regime? Send your team to Kyiv, support our fight, and apply real pressure on aggressor. Sanction Russia and seize their shadow fleet instead of handing out sanction waivers. Do that, and maybe negotiations will magically become "fruitful."

Today has been a much better day! Cruised (under motor only) for an hour in the gorgeous sunshine and have moored outside a beautiful pub. I’ve rowed ashore in my brand new dinghy that didn’t sink and I’m now sitting outside the pub with a large glass of wine looking at my boat. I haven’t had chance to check all of your messages today, but I shall. All I can say is that you are an incredible bunch of people. Thank you so much for everyone who has supported me by buying my books. You’re amazing. And thank you to everyone for the amazing messages of support. You’re all beautiful. Cheers 🥂

@IainDale Can we just leave the casual accusations of racism aside, especially when its completely inaccurate. I can tell you about the building industry. Wages fell, thats not even debatable. Whats also not debatable is the skill and work ethic they brought. Both can be true.

It's not racist to understand the basic rules of supply and demand. If there are too many people coming into the country, as there were from Eastern Europe in the 2000s, and they are willing to work for less than the indigenous people, wage levels will fall in those sectors.
Wol@WasOnceLoved

Iain Dale repeating the usual racist dog-whistle nonsense about wage suppression caused by immigration. It doesn’t happen. There is no correlation let alone causation between immigration and wage suppression. Wages were suppressed by the Tories. For shame @LBC

My wife and I have worked in the NHS and have done so for over 25 years. Grace was a medical student and attended lectures at Queens Medical Centre, one day she would have qualified and started her chosen profession in Nottingham, treating the people of Nottingham, working in the NHS hospitals there. This news of staff viewing notes and morbid voyerism brings enormous hurt and adds to the pain of losing our beloved daughter. @BBCNews @bbcmtd @ITVCentral @ITV @Channel4News @OliverPridmore @EmilyMayTV @wesstreeting @jamesmurray_ldn

I don’t usually post photos of my boxer shorts, but hey! It’s not every day you nearly drown. Sat outside a pub trying to dry off my weekend wardrobe with a glass of wine. If you haven’t seen my previous post, you may want to look at that to get some context here.

Dear people of God’s garden*. If you’ve ever been to The Royal Oak in Swallowcliffe, you will know that it’s the best pub in the county. Please formalise this view by voting for it in these awards (under the ‘best-loved pub’ category). The staff would go proper menty if they won. #BollocksToTheBeckfordArms *Wiltshire wilts.muddystilettos.co.uk/awards/vote/?f…

After a morning/afternoon of MRI and CT scans at hospital (where the staff were brilliant, punctual and professional by the way) it’s time to relax. Today, I’ve chosen to do that by coming to a pub.

🇬🇧 Caesar called them barbarians. They had already made THIS. 🛡️ In 1857, dredgers clearing the Thames near Chelsea Bridge pulled something from the silt 🌊 They washed it clean. A bronze shield. 27 red glass studs. Worked by hand 🛡️ The dredger had never seen anything like it. This is the story of the Battersea Shield 🇬🇧 It was sent to the British Museum 🏛️ The curators dated it to the late Iron Age. 2,000 years old. Older than England. Older than Rome's arrival here. Who made it? Britons did. At a workbench in a roundhouse, by firelight 🔥 They beat the bronze. They set the red glass. It took months. But this shield was not for battle ⚔️ The bronze was too thin to stop a blade. It was made to be given. Their rivers were sacred. At dawn 🌅 they raised the shield. And gave it to the Thames 🌊 It sank. The Romans wrote them down ✍️ Julius Caesar 📜 wrote that the barbaric Britons painted themselves blue. But this shield was already centuries old when he wrote that. Its makers knew how to set red glass into bronze. 2,000 years passed. Rome came. And went. Saxons came. Normans came. England rose. Britain rose. The shield stayed where it was. Until 1857. Now it hangs in the British Museum 🏛️ It is one of many. Stone by stone. Shield by shield 🛡️ Made by Britons. Inherited by the British 🇬🇧 Will you help us spread our history to those who need to hear? 👇🙏 👉 proudofus.co.uk/support 👈 Be part of us. ☝️🇬🇧 Be Proud Of Us. 🙏🇬🇧
