Tried to watch the closing ceremonies on CBC but really just one commercial after another. Couldn't even spare five minutes to watch the Canadian athletes come in without Ketchup, Bell and Air Canada. Fuck it. I'm off to water my plants.

@CBCOlympics CBC Olympic closing ceremony is little over the top with commercials. Really taking away from enjoying it.

Is CBC even paying attention to the closing ceremonies? Any consulting of a timing sheet? Or the alphabet? They ran ads at the exact moments when a) Canadian Flag Bearers and b) Team Canada walked in. Horrid timing ruined both moments for the viewer - and the athletes

@MarkJCarney @TeamCanada I agree with this but could we do something about the atrocious number and placement of ads by the @cbc during opening and closing ceremonies?

Always missing huge chunks of the Olympic opening & closing ceremonies while @nbc & @peacock & @CBC take constant commercial breaks. Host countries put together beautiful ceremonies & we miss out bc of disrespectful corporate greed. WE WANT TO WATCH THE WHOLE CEREMONY, ASSHOLES.

We'll, it's the end of the games. Beautiful closing ceremonies but @CBC clearly didn't get the memo regarding ads overtop of the celebration. Run a banner or something, but muting the sound in favour of ad revenue is insulting to athletes and viewers.

Hey, @CBCOlympics, if you don't want us to enjoy the closing ceremonies, just show something else instead for the next two hours that you can ruin with your ads every 2 minutes. :)

@CBCOlympics Worst coverage of closing ceremonies. Reducing the screen to show commercials & blast audio of commercials while Canadian athletes were on camera was ridiculous. Same happened at summer Olympics. Next time I’ll turn on another countries broadcast to watch the parade of athletes.

@CBC you completely ruined the opening and closing ceremonies with your lack of judgement. Art needs to be seen and heard. Not commented on constantly. Terrible. NBC was better. (Marginally)
