🚨 JUST IN: Manchester United are aiming to announce a new contract for Kobbie Mainoo before the end of the season. United have verbally agreed a five-year deal with Mainoo and his new salary is expected to be around £150,000-a-week. #MUFC [@samuelluckhurst]

@markgoldbridge Unfortunately the best in class have either signed now contracts with national teams or about to sign new contracts with their respected clubs.. if there isn't anyone available who is best in class then what are you really supposed to do??

These Carrick getting the job rumours are ridiculous. It's a HUGE risk giving it an interim anyway. But to give it to him without even bothering to interview others is a disgrace by the board. Best in class? Exactly what they did with Ole. Nothing ever changes do the same thing

@UtdXclusive @Izaan__7 Heaven scoring for England U20s? That's just another reminder that our academy is producing talent while other clubs are scrambling.

@LukeEdwardsTele I can honestly see most clubs raiding Newcastle this summer.. tonali, Bruno, hall, Livramento all potentially going if Newcastle doesn't get European football

Newcastle United official has communicated to media tonight that there is no gentleman’s agreement Sandro Tonali can leave this summer if club do not qualify for Europe. That does not mean he won’t leave but he hasn’t said he wants to go and neither has there been any contact with #nufc from interested clubs at this stage. It’s only March but yet another week of stories linking Newcastle players with a move. Going to be a long summer 😬

@StretfordPaddck Think for the price that's being discussed it's a no go as we need the money for other areas and I'm sure we can pick up someone for cheaper somewhere else

@StretfordPaddck Can't even understand why Wharton is being put in the top 3 for replacing casemiro, he's not even a no6 at all...

🚨🔴 Although Carlos Baleba isn’t part of Manchester United’s 3-man midfielder shortlist - containing Sandro Tonali, Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson - he is still targeted and seen as a ‘second midfielder’ for #MUFC. Who would you pair him with from the shortlist? 👇 [@NathSalt1]

@JoeBusbyBabes Personally I think if you can renegotiate his contact to say 150/180k a week then it's a no brainer but on his current wages we simply cant do that deal..

This is the correct decision. Enjoy Casemiro for the next 8 games but it’s time to move on. His wages are so much and we need someone younger who can handle two games a week. He’s been brilliant but sentiment aside it’s time to move on.
Football Transfer News@FTransferNews

Manchester united are not planning to open contract negotiations with Casemiro. The club believes saving over £18m per year could be redirected toward strengthening the squad, with two midfield signings targeted for the summer. #MUFC

@kayshow23 @UtdXclusive Because he's 18 years old and has only ever played in the Paraguayan league. Still very raw and needs developing, Do you really think he's ready to play in the PL?? At least malacia has played in Europe and also did well for us before getting that horrible injury.

🚨 NEW: Diego Leon has not been visible in any training imagery at Carrington since Christmas Eve. There were murmurings he could head out on loan but instead he has been a regular for the U21s, starting in seven of their past eight games. United believe it is more logical that Leon trains with the U21s as that is where his playing opportunities lie. He is still using first team facilities. [@samuelluckhurst]

@Muppetiers I think if the choice of managers is between glasner, silva ect that you should stick with Carrick, if it's between the likes of tuchel, ancelotti ect then Carrick shouldn't get the job (my personal view) elite manager/ coach or stick with Carrick

Why is Gary Neville so against the idea of Carrick? Nobody is saying he should get the job right now. But why should he be ruled out, I really don’t get this guys thinking.

@UtdXclusive Is everyone forgetting that FFP is being scrapped come July 1st and being replaced with a new system.. the new rules are you can spend 85% of total revenue on transfers, wages, agent fees and managers fees. Everything else that was in FFP has been taken out i.e operation cost.

🚨 JUST IN: Manchester United are expected to have some money available to spend this summer, but the amount will depend heavily on several factors - especially whether they qualify for the Champions League next season. - With Champions League: The extra revenue would significantly ease their financial situation and make a more substantial transfer spend much more feasible. - Without Champions League: They could be forced to borrow heavily again to fund big signings, likely by drawing on their revolving credit facility (a form of overdraft). This same facility covered a large portion of last summer's £215M spending. Currently, United have already borrowed £295M out of a possible £350M under these facilities, leaving them with only £55M of remaining headroom to borrow without needing new arrangements.
